“Police officer… I’ll have to do some research on that. Where do humans keep their books on things? Are there books on police officers?”
“Police officer… I’ll have to do some research on that. Where do humans keep their books on things? Are there books on police officers?”
“Absolutely. That would be a place called a Library. I can take you there tomorrow if you’d like.”
“Alright, sounds good to me.” Lloyd folded the paper neatly and put it in his pocket. Although he hadn’t purchased food or furniture, he did have human clothes that concealed his wings. (Time skip?)
(Ye)
The next day, at around the same time (a little later to give him time to get ready), Sabina knocked on his door.
Lloyd answered the door once he’d waited a few seconds. He’d been waiting at the door for her, but didn’t want to open it immediately after she knocked since he figured that would be weird. “Greetings.” He bowed politely. “Ready to leave?”
She stuffed her hands in her pockets of her big trench coat—which was of course lined with faux fur— that disguised her wings. “I am.” She nodded her head once.
“Alright, let's get going then.” Lloyd smiled softly and walked out, closing the door behind him. He had on an oversized hoodie that he occasionally tugged down to make sure the tips of his wings were covered, paired with jeans.
Sabina walked out towards the elevator, “Do you have a car? The library is a few miles away.”
“What’s a car? Is it like Pegasi?” Lloyd asked, confused. (What he means is no lol)
(Lol!)
Sabina laughed, “That’s a no. You can ride in mine, then.” She fiddled with something in her pocket and pulled out a set of metal keys.
“Alright.” Lloyd shrugged and followed Sabina to the car. “What is this thing?” He circled the car curiously. “Is it alive?”
“Not really.” She opened the passenger side door for him, “It’s a powered engine fueled by gas.”
Lloyd hesitated before getting into the car. He seemed nervous considering he’d never seen a car before, and he felt a bit claustrophobic.
Sabina walked around to the other side and climbed in, “I’m sure you’ll get used to it. It’ll only be a few minute drive anyhow.”
“These things are very strange…” He said quietly, glancing around the car. Im not quite sure if I like it…
“They are really strange…” she agreed, igniting the engine. The car sputtered a few times before starting.
Lloyd jumped, startled. “W-What was that? Did we… did we make it angry? That doesn’t sound like a good noise…”
“Lloyd, it’s fine.” Sabina reached over to pull the seatbelt across herself and buckle in, “We’re safe.” She looked over to offer him a reassuring smile.
“Why are you confining yourself? What if you need to escape?” Lloyd still seemed very tense, and it was obvious that he didn’t like the car.
“You can unbuckle it quickly. It’s an extra safety measure too…would you just like to walk?” She offered at last.
“Uh… n-no… I’ll be okay.” Don't be a coward. Lloyd hesitantly buckled himself into the seat.
“Ok.” She changed the gear from park to drive and backed out of her parking space—after checking her rear-view mirror just in case.
Lloyd watched out the window anxiously as they pulled out. Just keep quiet… I’m sure these things are perfectly safe. “S-So… how far away is this library again?”
“Just a couple miles.” She replied, “Five minute drive.”
“Alright…” Lets just hope those five minutes go quickly. They soon arrived at the library and Lloyd immediately got out of the car.
