“Huh, strange.” Lloyd hesitantly took a sip of it. “Well, the name holds true. It is indeed hot chocolate. Not bad.”
“It’s one of my favorites, but at the shop they sell even more kinds and flavors of it too.” She placed her hands in her pockets; it didn’t seem to disturb Apollo,
"What's the paper?" Lloyd examined the paper curiously.
“It’s a list of places to go and things you should probably buy.” She explained, “If you need it, at least.”
"Food… why do I need to buy food?" Lloyd asked, confused. "I don't really eat much."
“Well, typically humans need to to survive when they get hungry. And they made all sorts of interesting food here. You just might like to try them, that’s all.”
"Alright… coffee. That's on the list too. What is it?"
“It’s a bitter liquid kind of like tea, but it’s made from brewing coffee beans instead of tea. Humans like to sweeten it with milk and sugar,” She replied.
"Hmm… does it have a purpose?" Lloyd was still just holding his hot chocolate since he didn't own any furniture.
“It tastes good, I suppose.” She found his cluelessness highly amusing.
Lloyd shrugged. "Fair enough. Furniture… whatever could I need that for? I can sleep on the floor."
“If you ever have someone over to visit, it would look suspicious without basic furniture. Also most humans don’t really like to stand.”
"Who would be coming over to visit? The only person I know here is you."
“Well, if you ever meet more people.” She shrugged, “Humans are pleasant company to talk to.”
“Really? Huh… I’ve never really considered making friends here. My job is to protect them, after all.”
“What better way to protect humans than to befriend them?” She smiled, tilting her head slightly to the left. Her eyes squinted in an almost…playful expression.
“What are you doing?” Lloyd glanced from side to side nervously before looking back to Sabina. “Is there something wrong?”
“What do you mean?” She blinked, frowning now in confusion, “Everything’s fine.”
“You’re squinting… and your head was at an angle. Is that a human mannerism?”
“Pretty much, Yeah. Sorry, I’ve just gotten used to it.” She brought one of her wings to hold and nervously preen—a habit.
“It’s fine… I just had to make sure we weren’t in danger. So what am I supposed to do here on earth, anyway?”
“Well, you could get a job to earn money to buy those things in the list.” She suggested, “I’ll help out with the little things.”
"Hmm.. Alright. What about the whole protecting thing, though? How am I supposed to do that when there's nothing dangerous here?" (I feel like Lloyd would develop a crush on Sabina because she comes over almost every day to help him and he figures out he started looking forward to her coming)
(Awww that’s adorable, I love that)
“Well…” she pondered for a second, “You could aspire to work in the law enforcement. They’re called Police Officers, and you can protect people from other…violent people. It would take a while of training, but it’s just a suggestion.”
