"It was. I'm glad we came here," Hazel sat down next to her, wishing she didn't have to take the skates off.
"It was. I'm glad we came here," Hazel sat down next to her, wishing she didn't have to take the skates off.
Lexi could sense her hesitance and leaned back. "You can go for a few more laps if you'd like?" She said with her tone in a suggestive manner.
"Thank you!" Hazel gushed. "I'll be right back, okay?" She took off, sprinting.
Lexi smiled looking at her go. Her eyes were following her laps with dreamy eyes.
On her way by, Hazel blew Lexi a kiss. She was going fast now. It felt as if she were the wind. Hazel felt all of her stress melt away as she did effortless cross-overs.
Lexi cheered her on even though there was no point. She watched, astounded by her moves on the rink.
Hazel's smile was incredibly broad now. She finished a few laps and came back over to Lexi. "I needed that," She panted.
"I know." She said, handing her a bottle of water to quench her thirst. "Where do you want to go after this?"
Hazel took a long sip while she thought. "Probably not somewhere public while I'm sweaty and in yoga pants."
"Awww." Lexi pouted before putting her stuff up. "We could come back to my place."
"Okay. Let's go."
"Oh shoot, did you walk here or take a car?" She asked opening thee door with her left hand since her skates were in her right.
"I skated," She gave Lexi a puzzled look. "You don't live that far, right?"
"No, not really, I just ran some errands before I came here." She clarified, opening her car door.
"Okay," Hazel got into Lexi's car.
It took Lexi five minutes to drive back home and when she parked, she opened the dooor for Hazel before she could herself.
"Thank you," Hazel curtsied and stepped out. She took Lexi's hand in her own and walked towards the door.
"Your welcome," Lexi grinned before interlacing their fingers together. She opened the door for them and threw her key in the basket before removing her shoes. "What do you wanna do?"
Hazel followed Lexi's lead and took her shoes off. "I don't know. Anything you'd like, I guess."
"Well, I can think of a few things I'd like to do." She answered, leading Hazel to her living room. On the coffee table were three board games. Monopoly, Game of Life, and Clue. "Choose which one you wanna play."
"Well, how intense do you get when playing these?" Hazel thought back to some cutthroat Monopoly games with her friend.
"I'm a good sport, I promise." She said, sticking out her pinky.
Hazel wrapped her pinky around Lexi's. "Okay. Monopoly it is."
"Okay, I hoe you don't cry when you lose." Lexi chuckled before opening the game and putting the game down and taking out all the pieces. "I already choose the puppy piece."
"Good thing. I'm always the thimble," Hazel looked at Lexi. "And I get intense when I play, too. Just a warning."
