Lexi was still moping around her apartment ever since she lost that gorgeous stranger's number. She been searching up way to recover lost phone numbers for days and almost hurling her phone at her friend for deleting it. She gave up looking for it and decided to go out somewhere away from home.
Hazel paced her dorm, waiting for the call to come in. The pacing drove her room mate insane, but she couldn't help it. It had been a few days since she had met someone at the party, and given them her number. It didn't take long to realise that she needed to go somewhere to take her mind off it.
Lexi opened the door to the pet store, hoping that looking at some animals would calm her. She passed by the turtles and fish and when to the puppies section, playing around with some of the beagles and corgi's.
Hazel sprinted to the pet shop, hoping her kitten was still there. She turned around the corner, towards where the puppies and kittens were. Someone else was there, and they looked oddly familiar.
"Hello?"
Lexi turned around at the sound of the all too familiar voice and saw the stranger. She covered her mouth with her hand when she saw who it was. "Hazel?" Lexi asked, hoping her eyes weren't fooling her.
Hazel blinked a few times, thinking maybe her mind was playing tricks. "Holy shit…" She whispered. "Lexi…. Oh my god!"
"I'm so sorry." She apologized, her mind running with excuses of why she couldn't call back. "My friend deleted your number and I've been trying to find it."
"It's OK!" Hazel exclaimed, heart racing. "I was worried, even though I know half the time people never call me when they get my number…" She trailed off.
Lexi sighed in immediate relief, glad that she wasn't mad at her. "So can I still take you up on that offer of a date?"
She looked up. "Of course," Hazel looked into Lexi's eyes. "I have a question too. Mind if I ask?"
