He did his best to stay calm, reminding himself that she was here to help him, not hurt him. He stayed as still as he could, his only real motion was to lessen his hold on Arien’s hand, his grip more relaxed now.
He did his best to stay calm, reminding himself that she was here to help him, not hurt him. He stayed as still as he could, his only real motion was to lessen his hold on Arien’s hand, his grip more relaxed now.
Arien rubbed the back of Rafael's hand lightly. The woman pulled away after a moment.
"Well," she said, smiling softly. "There is good news with this."
“And?” He asked softly, not letting himself get his hopes up yet until he actually heard what she had to say.
"We will be able to treat this," the healer finally said. "But it may take some time." Arien let out a sigh of relief, grinning.
He smiled widely, feeling like a huge weight had been lifted off his shoulders. “Thank you so much.”
Arien gave Rafael's hand a squeeze, still grinning.
"Come back in a couple days," the healer said. "Until then, make sure to take this at least once a day." She handed Rafael a small vial.
"Just a couple drops will do."
“Okay. Thank you again.” He squeezed Arien’s hand tightly, trying to contain his excitement.
Arien stood as the healer left, helping Rafael up. He hugged the human close.
"Told you everything would be okay," he said, grinning still.
He hugged Arien tightly, a big smile on his face. “Oh shush, no need to say you told me so.” He jokingly punched the other in the shoulder before going right back to hugging him.
Arien laughed lightly.
"H-hey!" He said teasingly when Rafael punched his shoulder. He hugged Rafael close to himself, letting out a breath. He buried his head in the human's shoulder, still grinning.
"I'm just glad you're going to be okay."
“Me too.” He replied with a wide smile, resting his hand on the back of Arien’s head, messing with his hair. “We should probably go home now right? Before it starts getting light out?”
Arien giggled softly when Rafael messed with his hair.
"Yeah, that would be a good idea." Arien just picked Rafael up, his face in the human's shoulder still as he took them out of the healer's home.
He was glad that Arien had convinced him to go. Now that he knew he at least had a chance at being able to see again, everything didn’t seem quite as dreary as it had before. He held the vial tightly, not wanting to risk dropping it on their way back.
Arien moved his head so he was looking over Rafael's neck now, just to make sure he didn't trip. He took off, still grinning. He rested his head on Rafael's. Everything was going to be okay…
“You know what I miss most about being able to see?” He asked, loud enough so Arien could hear him. “Being able to see your dumb face every day. I miss seeing you smile.” He said with a grin.
Arien huffed a bit, cheeks turning red.
"W-well, you'll be seeing a lot of it later…"
“Good.” He pressed his face into Arien’s chest, breathing him in. “Guess that means you’re stuck taking care of me for a little while longer.”
"Mm, I don't mind at all," Arien hummed. He held Rafael close, continuing off to the house.
“I’m glad…” he mumbled. “How long do you think it’ll take us to get back?” He asked curiously. He didn’t want them to be caught on their way home by the sun.
"Ah… It should be about an hour again," Arien said. He glanced at the horizon, trying to figure out just how much time they had left.
"It'll be close…" he mumbled to himself. He couldn't afford to get caught, not while he was taking care of Rafael.
“I’ll let you focus then.” He said, falling silent. He didn’t want to be his blabbering to be the reason that Arien got hurt.
(Should he get caught? It could be interesting, if like, a ray hits only like a hand or smthing)
Arien continued on in silence as well. He rested his head on Rafael's, occasionally glancing to the horizon to make sure there was no sun yet.
((I mean up to you dude but that could be interesting))
Rafael stayed silent as promised. He could feel as the night was slowly changing into day and he just prayed they’d make it back in time.
Arien saw the sky slowly lightly, but thankfully they arrived at the house. He slowed down, unlocking the door. He was in a bit of a hurry by now, fumbling a bit. He got it open, stepping into the heavily curtained home. He set Rafael down, turning back to close the door. A ray of sunshine, however, fell across his excused skin.
"Fucking– SHIT!" Arien slammed the door shut, holding his hand close to himself. The skin sizzled a bit, almost bubbling immediently with massive sunburns.
“Arien?! Are you okay?!” Rafael asked, turning around. He could pretty much smell the burnt skin. “What happened??” He asked, his brow furrowing with worry.
