Arien wiped his mouth off, looking around as he hurried back to Rafael.
"I'm back," he said, so Rafael wouldn't freak out. "How are you doing?"
Arien wiped his mouth off, looking around as he hurried back to Rafael.
"I'm back," he said, so Rafael wouldn't freak out. "How are you doing?"
“I’m okay. Nothing happened to me so yeah I guess I’m all good.” He thought back to the scream he’d heard a few minutes ago, hesitating before asking. “Did you…kill him..?”
Arien took Rafael in his arms, quiet a moment.
"No," he said. "He's just unconscious."
Rafael nodded, leaning back on the other. “And you’re not lying to me..right?” He asked quietly. He wanted to believe Arien but he just had to be sure.
"I'm not." Arien figured Rafael wouldn't be too keen on him killing people anymore, so he'd stop for the human's sake. "He'll be light-headed, and probably need to get a blood transfusion, but he'll be fine."
He nodded, believing him now. “Thank you.” He said softly, smiling up at him gently. “So, are you ready to keep going then?” He asked.
"You're welcome. And yeah! We'll be at the healer's in no time." Arien adjusted his hold on Rafael a bit, then took off, smiling softly.
He nodded, his smile widening as they began to get moving again. He wouldn’t say anything else for the remainder of their trip.
Arien was quite as well. He hummed softly, just content to hold Rafael as he ran. It was a solid hour, like he had said, before he finally started to slow down.
"We're here," he said.
He nodded, feeling himself start to get nervous again. What if there wasn’t anything they could do to fix it? He didn’t know what he’d do with himself…
Arien felt the shift in Rafael, holding him close. He walked towards the entrance, looking down at Rafael.
"It'll be okay," he said softly.
“Okay..” He said quietly. “You’ll stay with me right?” He asked, leaning into the other more.
"I will, promise," Arien said softly. He rested his head on Rafael's, rubbing his back a bit.
“Thank you.” He whispered, taking a deep breath. “I’m ready whenever you are then. C-Can you put me down?”
"I can," Arien assured. He set Rafael down, holding his hand still. "As long as you're ready, then we should go in now…"
“Yeah..let’s go.” He said, holding tightly onto Arien’s hand so he wouldn’t lose the other.
Arien gave Rafael's hand a squeeze, heading into the home with Rafael. It was warm, and cozy. He smiled softly, keeping close to Rafael.
Rafael was grateful that nothing was super overwhelming for him as soon as he got inside. It let him be able to relax a bit, so he wasn’t gripping Arien’s hand quite as tight.
Arien moved over to the side. There were a few others in the building, but this place was a safe haven for all, even humans who found out about it.
He hummed softly, a small smile appearing on his face. He didn’t know why, but he naturally felt safe here.
Arien rested his head on Rafael's shoulder. Eventually, the healer made her way over.
"Hello," she said, voice sweet. "How can I help you today?"
“U-um..” He stammered a bit, trying to figure out how to explain it, before just going with the simplest answer. “I recently was blinded and we just wanted to see if there was anything you could do to fix it? Or at least make it a bit better?”
The healer nodded a bit, even if Rafael couldn't see it.
"I see! Is it alright for me to examine your eyes?" Arien lightly squeezed Rafael's hand.
He nodded, squeezing Arien’s hand back tightly. Definitely not enough to actually hurt Arien but still.
The woman reached out, lightly taking Rafael's head in her hands. She used her fingers to open his eyelids a bit more, examining the cloudy surface.
