"what do you want to do until your headache goes away?" he ignored her glare, shooting her a quick wink as he spoke.

She capped the bottle and fell back, her head resting in his lap. She looked up at him, one eye closed as the sunlight was still a little much for her poor eyes. "Honestly? Stay in bed all day."

"that's a fair point. you drive a hard bargain, hunt." he stroked her hair, pushing it out of her face.

She didn't want to admit to herself that she liked the feeling of his fingers playing with her hair.
She raised a brow. "Oh?"

"indeed. i'm assuming you want me to stay with you?" he started to put a small braid in, shifting his legs so she was more comfortable.

"Not if you don't want to. I'm not your jailer. I'm gonna assume you sent me something that made me worry, but I won't force you to stay within my sight."

"thank you, but i enjoy spending time with you. if you prefer i stay, i will. i don't have much to do nowadays, except cause aimless trouble."

She smiled softly up at him, happy that at least someone enjoyed being with her. "Then feel free to stay as long as you want. There's an extra room downstairs that has an attached bathroom–but you know how I am."

he chuckled lightly, finishing off the braid.
"i do know how you are. feeling any better yet?"

"Mhm."
She took a deep breath as she closed her eyes, relaxing slightly.

after a full day of quiet chatting and doing next to nothing, [im guessing they ordered food?] nik noticed the sun going down.
"hey, tess. you want me to spend the night again? i don't want to overstay my welcome."

"Like I said, you're free to stay as long as you want. The extra bedroom is free for you to use, because I'm definitely not going to go anywhere near it."

"thank you. and why is that?" he asked, curious about why she wouldn't go to a part of her own house.

"No exits other than the door, and it's underground. Not a good combo." She shrugged. "I can go to the music and dance studio, as well as the gym. But that's only because A) There are exits, and B) They provide distractions from the panic."

"ah."
after he processed, he considered for a moment. wondered if she'd prefer he slept with her. that seemed more of a drunk tess thing, though.

She pulled her legs up to her chest and rested her chin on her knees, mind wandering aimlessly. Her attention sometimes slid over to Nik, but she didn't allow herself to linger on those thoughts too long.

as they sat together, nik had eventually pulled out his phone and read over some articles, mostly conspiracy theories, cryptid sightings and one about his "disappearance". he shared the funnier ones with tess, and when it came time for him to fuck on off to the other room, he give tessa a kiss on the forehead.

"love you, tess. see you tomorrow."

She blinked.
Then blinked again.
Wait, what?
"Wait, what?" she asked out loud, sure she had heard him wrong. And if she hadn't, then she must've taken it the wrong way.

"hm? what didn't you catch?" he straightened, cocking his hip.
