Rowan took a deep breath. I scare everyone. but thank you. he sent back, biting his lower lip for a moment. I…am very sorry that you had to see that on the news He let out his breath in a sigh. I should kill him and watch you fall apart. Reaper growled. Rowan felt like there were claws raking through his mind. He let out a low moan. No. If you touch him, then I will kill myself and you. he replied threateningly.
Damian looked at his phone, his gaze saddening. He knew he shouldn’t sympathize with a man who just killed people, but… I know you wouldnt hurt me, thats all that matters right? But Rowan did hurt Damian. Here he was, bleeding and dizzy because of him. But Damian didn’t feel like Rowan hurt him. He felt like the Reaper hurt the Frost, and that’s all there was to it. Sure, when Damian put on the mask, Rowan would hurt him. But he just had a hopeful feeling that is Rowan saw that he was Damian, he would rethink everything… and maybe even change his ways?
Rowan bit his lip, looking down at the phone. Yeah. He replied, knowing that if it came down to it, if Reaper tried to kill or hurt Damian…he wasn't sure if he would be able to stop it. He closed his eyes for a moment. See how hopeless it is? You should stop trying. I'm going to kill him eventually, or at least scare him so bad he never comes back. Reaper rasped. Rowan shook his head again. Why, Reaper? Why?
Damian let out a small sigh, closing his eyes. He heard a small whine and he cracked his eyes opened to see Bailey on the side of the bed. He chuckled and moved to pull him up on the bed with him -the dog was too old to jump up on his own anymore- and Bailey quickly settled himself beside him. “What am I gonna do bud?” Damian muttered softly, “I like him a lot. Like, a lot a lot. Yet he’s also the guy I’m trying to take down.” Bailey merely rested his head on Damian’s arm.
Rowan moaned, and flopped down on the bed. He set an alarm to let him know when it was thirty minutes before he had to go, and stripped off his clothes, getting in the shower. He let the hot water beat down on his body, his hair getting into his eyes a little as he did. He swallowed, closing his eyes and tipping his head up into the flow of water.
Damian, similarly, set his own alarm to go off. He fell asleep without taking a shower, a foolish mistake yet again because he didn’t hardly smell good and there was most definitely dirt in his wounds. The exhaustion from the use of his powers was simply too much, if he wanted a chance to function properly for his date he needed sleep.
(do we wanna do a little timeskip or nah?)
Rowan finished up his shower. Only bothering to towel off and put on boxers, he tumbled into bed. He knew that he might wake up screaming again, might wake up to the walls weeping blood and the darkness in his mind pressing in, but he needed to sleep. And if he woke up screaming…oh well.
(Sure, to when both their alarms go off for their date lol? Also to clarify, will Rowan pick Damian up at his apartment?)
Damian woke up to his harsh alarm, greeted with a sharp pain. He looked down at himself. Shoot. Damian woke Bailey up as he jumped out of bed and stripped, then scrambled for his one pair of nice-clothes. He bandages on his chest were kinda falling off, but he didn’t give himself time to fix it as he buttoned up his pale blue shirt and put of a pair of pants. He scrambled into the bathroom and shoveled a handful of mints into his mouth and ripped off his bloody bandages. Gosh I look like a mess.
Rowan awoke to his alarm, groaning softly. He got out of bed, and got dressed. He put on a forest green shirt and dark slacks, combing his hair. He checked in the mirror, sighing softly. Damn, I'm a hot mess. He thought ruefully. Did you have to act up on my date night, Reaper? He sighed again. There was a dark, scraping laugh in his mind. But of course, Rowan. When have I ever let you be happy? Rowan swallowed.
Damian gingerly brushed his hair with his fingers first, dry crusted blood coming out. He let out a groan of annoyance, trying to brush the dried blood off as best as he could without reopening the scrape. He glanced at the mirror. Damian did not look good. He splashed water on his face, which made him look a little bit better at least. Presentable to go on a date, and as long as Rowan didn’t inspect the back of his head too closely it would be fine. And he didn’t expect Rowan to be taking his shirt off tonight, so hopefully he wouldn’t see that wound either.
Rowan let out a breath. He pulled out his phone, and sent a text to Damian. U ready for me to leave and pick u up? He headed downstairs, and popped a few mints in his mouth to make sure his breath didn't stink. He got in his car, but didn't start it just yet. He was hoping with all his might that the Reaper wouldn't make an appearance. He usually didn't, not twice in one day, but…there was always the possibility.
Damian heard his phone ding and quickly went to it. He immediately texted back, Yep! I live at [ADDRESS] Cant wait! Then he slid his phone into his pocket and darted back to the bathroom to do some finally touches so his hair looked just right. Gosh he was going on a date with a man that just beat the living shit out of him. Damian once again questioned this decision, but brushed it away not a moment later. Rowan was different when he wasn’t Reaper, and Damian wanted to put his trust in him. How silly that sounds…
Rowan smiled a little. Alrighty! Will be there soon he texted back. He set the address in his GPS, and started the car. He started driving, following the GPS's instructions as he drove towards Damian's apartment. After about ten to twenty minutes, he arrived at the apartment. Turning the car off and tucking the key in his pocket, he knocked on the door, biting his lip a little nervously.
Damian’s heart skipped a beat when he heard the knock on the door. He quickly put on his best smile before opening it. “H-Hi Rowan!” He greeted with a tiny wave. Bailey had wandered over to the doorway to see the newcomer, sniffing the air a little and looking at Rowan with curiosity.
Rowan smiled. "Hey. You ready?" he asked, shifting a little nervously, giving Damian a hopeful smile. He blinked, and looked down at Bailey. "Hey boy!" he greeted with a grin, holding out his hand for the dog to sniff, then gently petting the dog's head. He looked at Damian. "What's his name, again?" he questioned, still smiling.
Damian smiled brightly and told him with a truly happy look in his eyes, “Definitely. I could hardly wait.” He looked down as Bailey approached Rowan. The dog gingerly sniffed Rowan’s hand, and his tail started wagging a little. “His name’s Bailey,” Damian told Rowan proudly. He loved his dog so, so much and that was evident in Damian’s eyes. Bailey moved his head a little to try to lick Rowan’s hand.
Rowan smiled. "Me too." he replied with a smile. He looked at the dog again. "Well, it's nice to meet you, Bailey." he crouched, letting the dog sniff at his hand. He smiled again, and chuckled as Bailey licked his hand. He scratched the beagle behind the ears, unable to stop the happy smile on his face.
Damian grinned brightly. He was honestly a little surprised Bailey was getting along well with Rowan, but he was proud of his dog. The dog wagged his tail a little more at the ear scratch, and Damian let out a tiny giggle. “Bailey, how long do you intend to distract us from our date? Move along, he’s my man,” Damian said with a smile, glancing at Rowan with a bit of humor shining in his eyes.
Rowan smiled, and laughed. "And what if I decide I like him better?" he asked Damian with a teasing smile. He stood up, and kissed Damian's forehead softly. "You said you wanted a kiss, but that's all you get for now." he chuckled softly, and took Damian's hand. "Let's go." he said with a smile. "I'm hungry."
Damian gasped dramatically, “What? No, that’s not allowed.” He giggled, but then was taken by surprise at the sweet kiss. Gosh, the simple action already had Damian blushing. He gladly intertwined his fingers with Rowan’s, unable to contain his smile. “See you later, bud,” Damian told Bailey before closing the door, then entire time more focused on Rowan over anything else.
Rowan smiled, and led him out to the car. "Get in the passenger side, I'm driving." He said with a smile, unlocking the car. He led Damian around the car and got the door for him, closing it once the other male was inside. He got in the driver's seat and started it up again. "So. We're going to go for dinner, then maybe somewhere afterwards, I don't know." He shrugged a little, looking over at Damian with a happy smile.
(I just realized that if Rowan has a theme song, it's probably "Control" by Halsey, and that's depressing lol)
(Woah that fits his character really well lol, now I have to think what song would be Damian’s lol)
Damian smiled, happily following Rowan and slipping into the car. He buckled himself into the car then turned in his seat so he could face Rowan. He had to bite his tongue to hide his wince—he was pretty sure that he tore his wound a little while turning in his seat. Nevertheless, Damian grinned even brighter as the other man spoke, “That sounds really fun. Do I get to know where we’re eating or will that be a surprise?” He asked with a smile, his eyes crinkling at the corners a little.
(thanks lol. Oof good luck)
Rowan smirked at him as he started to drive. "Hm. Good question. Let's make it a surprise." He replied, chuckling quietly as he continued driving. The car handled smoothly. It was an older one, which he had spent a lot of money and time keeping in good condition. It was the one car that he still had that had been his father's, too.
