Damian nodded in understanding, solemnly silent as he dug. And dug. And dug. This was hard, but… Rowan’s presence helped. He wasn’t alone, and Rowan would help him through all this. Maybe they could stay together, for a couple days. Maybe Rowan would be okay with him sleeping over tonight, so he wouldn’t have to come home to a too-empty apartment.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Rowan helped him dig until it was deep enough. He put a steadying hand on Damian's arm. "That's deep enough." he said softly. "Let's bury him." he picked up the wrapped body, and then gently placed it in the whole, letting out a breath.

Damian managed a small smile as he looked down at that bundle of blankets. “He was a good dog,” He mumbled softly, leaning in to Rowan’s side for a moment. His eyes watered, ever so slightly, but he wiped his face before anymore tears could fall. Secretly, he froze Bailey’s body—one last goodbye before he lifted his shovel again and looked to the pile of dirt. “Alright… I’m ready,” Damian said softly before slowly moving to dump dirt back into the hole.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Rowan kissed his cheek gently. "I know he was." He murmured softly, and began to help Damian shovel the dirt back over top. He wished that he could have brought Bailey back. He wished that he wasn't stuck with the Reaper. He wished…a lot of things.

As they finished moving the dirt back, Damian let out a soft sigh. “Rowan… can I stay over?” He asked softly, then quickly added, “Y-you can say no if you’d rather have some time to yourself. I-I know I kinda threw myself onto you.” His cheeks dusted with pink and he focused his gaze on his feet, though he did shift a little closer to Rowan.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Rowan looked over at Damian, a soft smile on his face. "Of course you can." he replied softly. "I can't…guarantee that it'll be easy, but you can stay for as long as you need to." he wrapped an arm around Damian, kissing his forehead softly.

Damian pressed his face into Rowan’s shoulder for a moment, breathing him in and managing a small smile. His hand found the other’s and he intertwined their fingers, holding on tightly like a small child. Things are gonna be okay.

@ElderGod-Icefire

(ooh! I found a song that kinda fits this RP really well: Landmines, by BELLSAINT)

Rowan held Damian close, closing his eyes as he held onto his boyfriend. "You're going to be okay." he murmured softly, rubbing Damian's back with his thumb. "I promise you that. Maybe not now, but you will recover eventually."

@Rvan group

((heck I need to find my earbuds but I looked up the lyrics and ooooooh my gosh it looks so perfect for them haha))

Damian soaked in the moment for a couple of long seconds. It was hard, to lose Bailey so suddenly, but he was getting old. “I guess it’s better that he died naturally than in pain,” Damian said softly, swallowing before picking his head up and looking at Rowan’s face. Even if there was now a large dog-sized hole in his heart, it would get better. He believed Rowan more than anything. Damian slowly stepped back, though, so they could go back to the house, but he did snag Rowan’s hand with his own because he didn’t want to lose that contact between them.

@ElderGod-Icefire

(find them and listen!! Yeah it is haha)

Rowan nodded, winding his fingers through Damian's. "Yeah. Trust me. Naturally is…so much better than the other possibilities." he replied softly, eyes flickering a little bit as they waked back towards the house. He took a deep breath, chewing his lip for a moment. "I'm so sorry you lost him, though."

@Rvan group

((So I listened to the song earlier today! It was very nice, it definitely fits with our two boys lol!))

Damian nodded in solemn agreement, keeping near Rowan with each step towards the house. He wasn’t alone, and… and that was brilliant. Maybe the whole reason he hated Bailey’s death so much was because he knew his life would fall apart, living in his apartment all alone with nothing but the ticking clocks to help him keep his sanity, but now? Now Damian had Rowan, and he could finally see that light at the end of the tunnel. “It’s… it’s okay. It still hurts, but… but I’m okay,” Damian whispered, managing a small smile towards the handsome male beside him.

@ElderGod-Icefire

(yeah!)

Rowan nodded. "Mhm. I…don't know if you've ever lost someone before, but…it does stop hurting eventually." I'd assume, anyways. It's a little different when you're the one that killed them. His eyes flickered for a moment, and he took a deep breath. "Or at least, it…it did for me. So. It hurts now, but eventually you'll be okay. Hell, someday you might want another dog."

@Rvan group

((Also I like your avatar thing by the way! I’ve been seeing those around, very cool!))

Damian slowly nodded, and mumbled a soft, “Maybe.” Getting another dog… the thought seemed weird, but maybe he would get another dog. Just not now, not yet. Especially with all that he had to do as the Frost, and with how he was with the Reaper now. “A new dog… would be nice, in time, I think,” Damian murmured quietly, then took a small breath and tightened his grip on Rowan’s hand ever so slightly.

@ElderGod-Icefire

(thanks! I literally just made me on Picrew lmao, that's all)

Rowan nodded a little bit, holding onto Damian's hand gently. "Yeah, of course." He agreed. "I didn't mean right now. I just… eventually, you might want a new dog." He smiled softly. "But yeah, not now if you don't want one."

@Rvan group

((So I ended up checking picrew out for the first time after hearing that and made like a dozen different avatars things lmao, it was very fun to mess around with))

Damian smiled softly in response, the expression weak and tired but present nonetheless. He leaned closer, sapping off of Rowan’s warmth as they walked to the house. It was a horrible idea, really, to be doing this with the Reaper in the first place, but none of that mattered now to Damian. All he was focused on was how Rowan was just so perfect, Damian trusted him completely when he was like this, and how he was already exhausted and spent from how his magic had gotten out of control in his apartment earlier when he found Bailey—there was no room to worry about all the bad things in the world at the moment.

@ElderGod-Icefire

(ooh nice! Yeah Picrew is great. There's a thread in GC that's just labeled "Picrew Chat" where a bunch of us have linked to our favorite Picrews)

Rowan kissed Damian's temple softly, unlocking the door to the house and leading Damian inside. "So what do you want to do tonight?" he asked quietly, looking over at his boyfriend with raised eyebrows. "I don't have any plans, so it's up to you."

@Rvan group

((Ahh, neato! I’ve avoided the GC ever since I came back from a hiatus from like a year and a half ago—too much drama for my tastes, wasn’t very good for me. Now I just stick to rps))

Damian followed him in, taking a moment to survey his surroundings after they entered. “Maybe a movie?” Damian suggested softly, though he wasn’t as interested in a movie as much as he was interested in snuggling up close to Rowan. Maybe sneaking a few kisses, too. Or more than a few kisses.

@ElderGod-Icefire

(:D ooh yeah, makes sense. GC can be…yeah. Lot's of drama)

Rowan nodded. "Sure, sounds great." he replied, and headed for the "movie room", as he had labeled it as a child. It was set up with a projector and home theater setup, basically, with a nice big couch. "Alright. What do you want to watch? There's Netflix, Vudu, Amazon Prime, and Disney+. And yes, I pay for all of those. Mostly for Lily, but…" he shrugged his shoulders.

@Rvan group

((Yeah. I’m really grateful for rps, I feel like I can still chat with people on notebook, yet there’s less drama and the people I rp with seem more… down to earth, if that makes any sense lmao?))

Damian stayed by his side, humming in thought at all the options. That couch looked nice, lots of space for them to sprawl on top of each other and- Focus, Damian. “Maybe Netflix?” Damian said softly, though he seemed more distracted as he moved to plop down on the couch with a small, content smile.

@ElderGod-Icefire

(yeah that makes sense! I mean if I'm honest, a lot of people in GC scare me lmao (except Ella and Dom))

Rowan nodded, sitting down beside him and wrapping an arm around his shoulders. He used the remotes to power everything on, going into Netflix. "Here we go." He said, looking over at Damian with a smile. "What do you want to watch?"

@Rvan group

((For me, it’s just seeing people get in arguments and getting political and shit. Like different opinions are amazing and I love to chat in a friendly manner, but I tend to have the luck of getting ganged up on, at least irl. Plus, some people are just rude/disrespectful af lmao, but I suppose that’s not limited to the GC))

“Mmmmm… I dunno… you pick…” Damian mumbled, already snuggling up against Rowan and sapping off his warmth. He couldn’t really help himself from nuzzling into his shoulder, eyes closed and content to be so close to the male that had tried to kill him on multiple occasions. But it was fine, because when they were like this, everything was perfect.

@ElderGod-Icefire

(oh yeah, that makes sense. Some people have gotten a bit more chill but I definitely see where you're coming from)

Rowan nodded a little, and tugged a blanket up over them, kissing Damian's cheek. "Alright." he replied. He selected a movie, starting it and holding Damian close, a little smile on his face. Some part of him was saying maybe they could be happy? Maybe Damian wouldn't be like the others and leave him?

@Rvan group

Damian wished every night could be like this. Maybe not the parts with Bailey, but just being with Rowan. Knowing he was safe, even if he was with the most dangerous person in the city… he felt safe. Damian wrapped an arm around Rowan’s abdomen, cracking one eye open to watch the movie. Really… Damian was content to stay there all night long.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Rowan kept his arm wrapped around Damian as they watched the movie. Maybe…they could really be something. Maybe Damian wouldn't just leave like everyone else did. He hoped so. He really hoped so.
