(Oh, it’s freezing in her house, too. Lol. Her parents don’t like to have the heat on for some reason… Or the AC…)
“Okay… Um… I’ll just call her now, I guess,” Skylar murmured as she grabbed her phone.
(Oh, it’s freezing in her house, too. Lol. Her parents don’t like to have the heat on for some reason… Or the AC…)
“Okay… Um… I’ll just call her now, I guess,” Skylar murmured as she grabbed her phone.
(My friend’s parents are the same way. It’s so weird.)
Revil nodded and grabbed the sugar. He loved sugar in his sauce. It made it thicker and helped keep in heat.
(I’m sitting on a radiator… It’s warm…)
Skylar dialed the number and soon her roommate picked up. She explained the situation, careful to leave out anything she didn’t want Revil to hear. Soon, Elizabeth was on her way, and Skylar set her phone back down.
(That sounds neat x3)
Revil put in a healthy portion of sugar into the warming sauce and strained the water out of the noodles. He mixed in the sugar, sighing over the noise.
(It was nice. I’m now waiting for my hair to be done dyeing.)
“She’s on her way. Um… I think it’ll be a while, though. She was across town,” Skylar called to Revil.
(That always takes the longest. What color are you getting?)
Revil nodded. “So do you want food?”
(Burgundy. It’s a reddish color.)
“Sure, if you’re still willing to have me here,” Skylar said with a nod. She blinked as the room spun for a moment.
(Sweet! I got my hair dyed purple on one occasion, and on another a light blue-green)
“Sure I will.” He ran cold water through the noodles, bobbing them up and down in the strainer.
(I had pink streaks and a peek-a-boo for a while until it faded. Then I had it burgundy for a year or two, and now I’m using henna to dye it again.)
“Okay… Thanks, Revil,” Skylar said, giving him a small smile.
(That’s cool.)
Revil didn’t smile back, nor look at her. He had to remind himself that he was just a neighbor. That’s all he was. Not a friend.
Skylar bit her lip and looked down when he didn’t respond. Had she done something wrong?
“Hey, Revil?”
Revil dumped the noodles back into the pot and stirred in the sauce.
“Yes?” He asked dully.
“I’m sorry if I upset you,” Skylar said softly. “I didn’t mean to…”
Revil shrugged. “It’s fine.” He doused the dish in parmesan cheese.
“But… Revil, really. I’m sorry. I just… There are some things that I just can’t explain, okay?” Skylar said pleadingly.
Revil nodded and mixed in the cheese. “I get it.”
“Revil, please. If I could explain, I would. I promise,” Skylar whispered.
Revil just sighed and plopped some spaghetti onto two plates. He retrieved a couple forks and brought the food over to her.
His silence was killing her. Why wouldn’t he say something?
Skylar sighed and took the plate and fork.
Revil sat down next to her and started to eat. He didn’t really mind the silence, since he lived with it.
Well, Skylar had a roommate who liked to talk, and she was also very concerned that she’d really upset him.
All Revil had was a cat. And yeah, he was upset, but for other reasons.
Skylar has no idea, so she was very worried. She ate in silence staring down at her plate.
The spaghetti beckoned for her to eat it. Revil sat and ate in silence to her left.
Skylar was eating. Slowly and silently, but she was.
