(Okay, cool. So, shall we say, a few weeks later?)
(Sure.)
Skylar couldn’t hide her limo this time as she made her way up the stairs of her apartment building. They really needed to get the elevator fixed so that she didn’t have to be in so much excruciating pain when she just wanted to get to her room.
She’d just gotten done with yet another battle with Rush, and she had somehow managed to fall and hit her head as well as possibly spraining her ankle. It was already swollen, through she was trying to hide it. Her head swam, and she tried to wipe away the blood from her brow, but it was already starting to dry.
She really hoped Revil wouldn’t see her like this. He’d start asking questions, and she didn’t want to lie to him. Not really.
Rush had landed safely in his apartment, still smirking. He had fled away easily after just smacking Kalypso away from him. He would never thought it was that easy. He shook himself from his water form and fed his cat, then walked outside, to see Sky limping up the way.
“Hey Sky,” He greeted as she neared him.
Skylar blinked up at Revil, forcing a smile onto her face. “Oh, hey Revil! How’re you?”
Revil grinned a bit. “I’m okay. How are you?” He noticed her limp. “Er… not well I suppose.”
“Oh, this? No, I’m fine. Just an old injury acting up,” Skylar said with a feigned laugh. “Gosh, I sound like an old lady…”
Revil’s eyes traced her bruised body. It looked like… she fell. From a height of… at least twenty feet. He pushed away the thought.
“If… if you’re sure…”
“Yeah, I’m fine. Don’t worry about it,” Skylar said, her smile wavering as she saw him take I her appearance. Her clothes weren’t wrinkled, since she had changed into her suit befor wthe fight and out of it afterwards, but her hair was probably a mess, and there were the blood and bruises of course…
(Are you okay, over there?)
Revil looked back up at her face and her ruffled hair, after looking her bruised arms.
“Okay… just… just making sure.” His face had a weird look to it. He looked distracted. That never happened.
(Me?)
“Really, Rev, I’m good,” Skylar assured him, forcing another chuckle as she shook her head.
Woah. Bad idea.
Her vision spun for a moment, and she shut her eyes to make it stop. When it finished, she blinked then open again, but everything was too bright, too blurry.
(Yeah you!)
Revil noticed her sway on her feet and he grabbed her arm and led her away from the steps. Why did he care? It was his enemy- NO! It wasn’t. It can’t be.
“Let’s go sit you down. I’ll whip you up something to eat.”
(…Yes…? Why wouldn’t I be?)
“Really, I’m fine. I just… need some sleep or something,” Skylar said, blinking to stop the room from spinning.
(Hmmmmm nvm)
Revil shook his head and led her into his apartment, where he sat her down on his couch.
“Just relax. I’ll cook you something.”
(My typos?)
“Revil, I’m fine, honestly,” Skylar insisted as she tried to stand again. It made her head spin again, so she let herself fall back into the couch. In a whisper, she admitted, “Okay… Maybe I’m not…”
(Yes.)
Revil put some water on to boil and he took out noodles and sauce for spaghetti. He grabbed a cold package of green beans and walked over, wrapping her ankle in it.
“Yes. You’re not. Rest.”
(Oh. Yeah. I don’t always make sure I don’t have any errors in my writing… Oops…)
Skylar squeezed her eyes shut as her vision swam, and she gave a small, silent nod as she leaned back into the couch. She shouldn’t let him do this for her. What if he found out who she was?
Revil walked away to the oven, where he leaned his weight onto the counter. She couldn’t be Kalypso. She acted nothing like the cocky superhero!
Skylar could feel herself drifting into sleep. The darkness would be a welcome reprieve from the pain…
Revil shook his head and looked down at the pot. He waved his hand slightly and it burst into a boil. He plopped the noodles and some olive oil into the pot and exhaled slowly.
Skylar felt herself start to drift off, and her head shot up as she gasped.
Stop. You can’t fall asleep here. Not now.
Revil jumped at her movement and looked over his shoulder. “If you’re tired, you can get some rest.”
“No, no. I’m good,” Skylar said quietly, trying to keep her eyes from falling shut again.
Revil nodded slowly. “Feel free to lay down if you want. The food won’t be ready until a bit later.”
“M’kay,” Skylar hummed, rubbing at her eyes. She just needed to stay awake a little bit longer…
Revil chewed on his lip. “Would you like a drink?”
“Water would be nice, thanks,” Skylar murmured, turning slowly to look at him.
Revil opened his fridge and grabbed out one of the many, many bottles that were in there. He shut it hastily before walking over and handing it to her.
Skylar smiled at him quickly before opening the water and taking a couple of sips. Maybe it would keep her head from spinning like a top…
Revil smiled back a bit and walked back over to his stove. “I think you should go to the hospital.”
