“Of course it doesn’t count,” Jace poked her nose. “I’ll meet you after my shower, all right? What will you be doing till then?”
“Of course it doesn’t count,” Jace poked her nose. “I’ll meet you after my shower, all right? What will you be doing till then?”
Amber shrugged, a soft blush coating her cheeks. “Probably studying… Studying and eating something quick.”
(Goddammit Jace, you’re not supposed to be this loveable!)
Jace nodded.
“All right, then,” he linked their fingers together. “Let’s go now? Before the manager becomes cruel and assigns me to cleaning duty?”
Amber chuckled and pecked his nose. “Yeah, let’s go. Wouldn’t want you to have to stay any longer than you need to.”
“Definitely not,” Jace agreed. Finally, they began to walk out with the rest of the team.
Once they were gone, William dropped his act and turned towards Caroline. “We should start cleaning now, shouldn’t we?”
She chewed on her bottom lip before sighing. “Thank you for staying over again, Will, but you don’t have to. I can take care of this myself.”
William looked at her, their eyes locking before he rolled his eyes.
“By the time you’re done with everything, it’s going to be night out,” he said rather softly. “I’ll walk you home, too.” The manager didn’t refuse.
Jace, finally done with his shower, stretched before he knocked on Amber’s dorm’s door. Though they’d just parted about fifteen minutes ago, he wanted to kiss her again. And see her. He didn’t think it was possible to like someone this much, but it appears it was. Amber was just… very much likeable.
“Just a sec!” Amber called from the kitchen, where she was just finishing up washing her dish. She set it away before grabbing a towel and going to open the door. Seeing Jace standing before her, she smiled and stepped aside. “Hey. Long time no see.”
Jace walked in, immediately wrapping an arm around her and resting his head on her shoulder.
“Mmm,” he hummed in content. “I missed you.”
Amber smiled, kissing his cheek before pulling away gently. “I missed you, too. Just let me go put this rag away before I come back, okay? It’ll just take a second.”
“All right,” Jace nodded. “I’ll be waiting for you then. Hurry soon because I really want that kiss you promised.”
“It’s literally not even going to be that long,” Amber laughed as she moved to the kitchen and hung the towel up. She walked back over to Jace, smiling up at him and placing gentle hands on his shoulders. “I still think you should ask,” she teased softly.
Jace looked at her before he sighed, resting his hands on her waist.
“Kiss me,” he said, wanting to feel her lips on his too badly to even respond to her teasing. “Please, Amber?”
Amber smiled and stood on her toes slightly to reach his lips. “Of course, Jace,” she murmured before pressing their lips together.
Jace pulled her closer, closing his eyes and kissing her back, relief coursing through his veins. Finally he got to kiss her.
“You really do kiss well,” Amber murmured against his lips as she let him lead the kiss, wrapping her arms around his neck. She preferred it this way, with him leading her in it.
Jace deepened the kiss, nibbling her bottom lip teasingly, revenge for depriving him of her lips for too long.
“Do I now?” He murmured with a smirk, feeling his confidence increase now that he was leading. “I’m glad you think so.”
Amber hummed a little, her breath catching slightly at his teasing. “Mmhm… Better be…” she muttered.
Jace would have continued kissing her like this, if not for the opening of the door following by it slamming.
”Exactly what are you both doing?”
Amber pulled away from Jace with a sigh and turned to see who was at the door, as if there was more than one person it could be…
“What does it look like we’re doing, William?” she sighed, though her cheeks held a slightly red tint at being caught.
William was not, to put in simpler words, in a good mood. It wasn’t like he ever was—unless he was around the basketball manager, but right now, he was far more annoyed than he should ever be.
Narrowing his eyes at his dormmate and teammate, William let go of the door knob.
“I suppose you’ve forgotten one of our rules?” He questioned through gritted teeth, though there was a mocking tone to his words. “Or do you need me to remind you what it was?”
Amber blinked before groaning softly. She’d made that rule, too…
“As a matter of fact, I had. I didn’t think it would matter so much, though, since it’s not like I had him in my room or anything,” she said with a seemingly uncaring shrug. I’m reality, she was wishing that she’d either never made the rule or that she’d at least remembered it. Then this wouldn’t be a problem.
“Doesn’t matter,” William all but snarled. Was it so difficult to remember such things? She herself made the rule, and she broke it. “You brought him to the dorm even though you knew it wouldn’t take me long to come back. I don’t care what you do together—that’s none of my business. But it becomes my business when I get home and find you making out in the living room—“
“Hey, William, don’t talk to her like that,” Jace interjected, which only fueled William’s anger. He shot his glare towards his teammate. Jace immediately felt like shrinking back, but didn’t regret speaking up though it took a lot of courage. He was defending his girlfriend, after all.
“You stay out of this,” he growled before turning back to Amber, clenching his fists. “Next time you make rules, follow them properly.”
Why was he getting angry over at something so stupid again? He simply wanted to graduate without any incidents, but he got stuck with a female who constantly got on his nerves, a teammate who couldn’t care less about the game, and a girl who thought of her career far more important than anything else. It was enough to cause an explosion inside of him, letting out anger he already had a hard time controlling.
Amber narrowed her eye at him in an annoyed glare. So she’d forgotten the rule once. Big whoop. What was his deal?
“Well, fine. Whatever. We can just go somewhere else, right, Jace?” she said, glancing up at her boyfriend.
“Yeah, sure,” Jace looked away from William just as the older boy glared.
William shook his head and stalked over to his room, shutting the door. He wasnot going to break anything.
