He leaned into Gabe with a hum.
He leaned into Gabe with a hum.
Gabe hummed as well. He kissed Alex's head, smiling.
Alex smiled up at him.
Gabe hummed, finally letting go and standing.
"Well, shall we go about setting up camp?"
He nodded a little. "Yeah."
"Okay… so… what do we need?" Gabe let out a sigh. He was a city boy, how would he?
"Do we have a tent?" Alex asked slowly, highly doubting that they did.
"Ah… no." Gabe let out a sigh. Too bad they didn't have time to prepare…
He frowned a little. They still had time before sunset. "We can build a lean-to?" He suggested.
"Um, okay then! What do we need?" Gabe shifted some, looking to Alex for direction.
"Lots of sticks." he said. "Although…a leanto would be hard to make, so maybe just a small shelter big enough to sleep in, and then we can start on a house in the morning?"
"Mm." Gabe nodded his head once.
"Well, shall we get looking then?"
"Yeah. We still need a lot of sticks, though, for the shelter."
"Right. We'll just have to put the work in, though, and we'll get this done!" Gabe smiled, taking Alex's hand.
He nodded. "Let's find sticks." he said.
Gabe nodded once. He picked the bag up, looking around. He started to pick up the sizeable sticks he found, smiling some.
He started grabbing as big of ones as he could find, lugging them over and piling them up.
Gabe did his best as well, holding a large pile of sticks in his arms by the time he got back, setting them down before turning to look for more.
Alex kept working for a bit, then stopped, taking the longest stick he had and pushing it into a crook in a tree, so that it formed a triangle. The apex of the triangle was about at his chest. Then he started taking other sticks and leaning them against the long one.
Gabe kept gathering sticks for Alex. He stopped for a bit, though, wiping his forehead.
"Need any help here?"
Alex shook his head, still carefully setting the sticks up to form a triangle shaped, small shelter. "No. Uhm…we're going to have to cuddle to fit in this, by the way."
"Okay, then." Gabe offered a smile, unbothered. "I'm good with that- are you?"
He nodded. "Yeah. I just wanted to make sure you were." He started weaving the smaller sticks into the bigger ones to make the sides more solid, to hold in heat.
Gabe nodded, then turned to gather more. When they did finally have enough, the man moved to Alex's side, watching to see if there was anything else he could do.
Alex continued working, eyebrows pulled together in concentration.
