(ohnu what will we do??)
Gabe fell silent.
(DD: I don't knooooooow)
Alex clung to him.
(DDD: Screw it lets go with have realizing it-)
Gabe laid with Alex a moment, but then he stiffened a moment. What the hell were they doing? Two men had been found dead in a park, and someone from an insane asylum was loving in one man's house and tied to the other.
"Alex," Gabe said, trying to remain calm.
(ah ok)
Alex looked up at him, raising his eyebrows a little. "Yeah?" He asked, a little unsure.
"Alex, I… You can't stay here." Gabe bit his lip. "Think. They'll… They'll blame you for what happened."
Alex looked up at him, going pale. "B-but…" He curled up into a tight ball.
"Alex," Gabe said gently. "We have to go."
Alex looked up at him fearfully.
Gabe pulled away a bit, sitting up.
"Please, Alex, I can't- I can't pack for you like this. You- you need to head West."
"I…" He looked very small as he stared at Gabe uncertainly.
"I'll come with you, but… You have to go, Alex." Gabe leaned down, gently kissing Alex's head and trying to coax him to get up.
Alex reluctantly moved, trembling a little.
"There's money under the mattress," Gabe said gently. "And a bag in the closet."
Alex nodded, taking the money and stuffing it in his pocket, then getting the bag.
"You need a cover story. Pack the things you need. You… You can say you're moving West for a better life. It's a train heading out today." Gabe stayed in the bed, trapped by the salt.
Alex looked at him, biting his lip.
Gabe looked around.
"I… Pack anything you need. Things that will help others believe you're moving."
Alex nodded. He grabbed some clothes, and two books, putting them in the bag.
Gabe watched closely, thinking.
"I… Bring some food too. Even if, if you don't end up eating it. And grab you're journal, the police would use it against you if they find it."
Alex nodded, putting the journal in the bag and then moving to the kitchen to grab the kind of food that wouldn't spoil.
Gabe thought, standing on the bed and pacing.
"Grab the bedding too. That should be it…" He wanted to ask Alex to bring the gramophone, but… He didn't think Alex would want to bring it.
Alex nodded, stuffing the bedding in the bag too. "Anything else?"
Gabe hesitated a moment.
"All that should be left here are just some sentimental things, y-you don't have to bring them…"
He looked at Gabe, raising his eyebrows a little.
Gabe sat down on the bed again, looking around once. He was just… Preparing himself to leave all his things behind. Then again, he was dead. They weren't his anymore.
