Four froze for a moment, then looked around.
"What are you doing?" he demanded. No glitch.
Four froze for a moment, then looked around.
"What are you doing?" he demanded. No glitch.
"Messing with you. Why?" She shifted in her seat.
"Stop it. It feels… strange." Four shook his head in disgust.
"Alright, alright." She leaned back. "How many rooms are in the hotel?'
"Thirty-seven." Four seemed to calm down then, when Orion stopped messing with the code.
"Why thirty-seven? Any particular reason? I feel like forty would be better. Or thirty-five."
"Because, there are thirty-six of us," Four explained, "And we need an extra room for a guest."
"Huh. I didn't realize there were so many of you."
"Mm. Most never ask." Four smiled calmly.
"Are you. . . related in any way?"
Four was silent.
"No." Liar.
"Right. Sure. Is anyone else related to these other residents?
"No, not that I know of." This time, it was the truth. It was only them.
"Alright. How many of them are you related to?"
"None," Four said. "As I pointed out before, none of us are related."
"Oh. Of course. Right. Sorry, my bad. Well, are you friends with all of them?"
"I'm acquaintances with everyone," Four said, choosing his words carefully.
"Acquaintances? Really. I don't exactly believe that."
"Why not?" Four asked.
"I don't know. I feel like if you're running the place, you probably have a decent relationship with these mysterious people."
"I do with some," Four said calmly.
"Obviously you do. And which ones?"
"I am close friends with Two." Not really, but that was the story set out for them.
"Right. And besides him. Out of those special twenty four."
"I don't interact with them, actually." Liar liar, but who could tell?
