Four had looked to the screen when he realized Orion was turning it off, but it was too late. He couldn't stop her, so he was back in the cage until she came back.
Turning her phone back on, she said to him, "Do you want to be nice now?"
Four didn't look up at the screen, arms folded around his chest to hold himself.
"Yes. I'm… I'm sorry…"
"Thank you. Now, are you going to keep bitching about this or do you want me to help you?"
"I…" Four didn't look up. "Please, help us."
"Exactly. Do you want to help me or keep sulking?"
"I'll… I'll help…" If Four was asked, he'd just say he was nervous, but… well, he feared Orion some now.
"Are you spooked or something? I'm not going to delete you."
Four froze at that. He hadn't thought that was an option, but now all he wanted was to make sure Orion didn't get upset at him and do it anyway.
"Of- of course! I'm just a bit nervous." Four's laugh mirrored his nervousness as he hid his terror.
"Four, come on. Chill out. Forget I even said that. I won't do anything without your permission."
"Of course, of course." Four still smiled up at the screen. He didn't believe a thing Orion said. She'd obviously spoken with the others about this, she knew about the cages, but she still turned her phone off. She still messed with his code. She still didn't like him.
Who wasn't to say she would delete him?
"Can I ask you a question, Four? You have to be honest, or I can't help you."
Four nodded, not trusting himself to not stutter again if he spoke aloud to Orion.
"What happens to you when I turn off my phone?"
"I…" Four trailed off. "It's the same as when the hour changes."
"Specifically, please. Four, I'm doing my best to help you, okay? I don't want to hurt you."
"We're locked behind the code, so we don't get into anything we're not supposed to," Four said softly, not looking up.
"Do you know what line of code that is?"
"No," Four admitted. "It's kept from our knowledge so we don't try to mess with it."
"Okay. I won't try to delete anything, then. Anything else potentially useful that you know."
"Not that I can think of…" Four managed to look up at Orion.
“Are you sure?”
"I'm sure," Four said, arms by his side.
“Okay.” She continued copying down the code. “Right now, I’m just copying. It won’t do anything to you.”
Four shivered some, nodding.
"O… Okay…"
