"You have to interact with them if you're the butler. That wasn't sneaky at all, Four."
"You have to interact with them if you're the butler. That wasn't sneaky at all, Four."
"We keep to our own sides of the hotel, and they have their own butler," Four pointed out.
"And who is this other butler? Do you know them?
"Thirteen," Four said. "And I've seen him, but we do not interact."
"My cat's name is Thirteen." Thirteen meowed. "Why don't you talk to him?"
"The Twelve and the Twenty Four don't interact much at all," Four explained. "And I'm sure Thirteen would be interested he shares a name with your cat."
"Thirteen doesn't seem to like it. My cat, I mean. Why don't you interact?"
"With… the cat?" Four raised an eyebrow.
"No, you idiot. With the Twenty-Four."
Intimacy lost. A little grey broken heart appeared in the corner.
"Oh, yes, of course. And we don't interact because we have different jobs."
"That doesn't mean anything. Don't you have time off?"
"Not really. Dealing with the other eleven is a full time job." Four chuckled, a strained sound. He wasn't liking how much Orion was pushing.
"Hm. Okay. Do you think that they're. . .like, do you take care of them?"
"They exist," Four said. He wasn't like this at all.
"Christ on a wagon. Cool down. I'm not doing anything to you."
Four looked away, another 'Intimacy lost' appearing.
"Yes, you are. I know it."
"What am I doing? Tell me."
"No. You know what it is." Four stared at the screen, arms folded.
"Do I? Or are you just being petulant?"
Four scowled.
"Just, stop."
"You're just being petulant," she said. "Unless you want to fess up, I'm going to maintain that."
Four scowled.
"Stop messing with the code!!" He shouted, no sound coming from the phone.
"Thank you. I will. See, all you have to do is say something, you big baby."
Four fell silent, and soon Orion was forced out of the interaction area. Four refused to look at the screen.
"Wow. I'm liking you less and less," she said, and turned her phone off.
