“Any thing else you need to know?”
“Any thing else you need to know?”
"No," Four said. He hoped to be left alone, but not for the phone to be turned off. All of this was just… too strange for him.
“Alrighty then. I’m going to continue to work so you can . . . sleep or whatever.”
"Okay… thank you." Four was quiet then, looking away from the screen.
(Aaaa this looks so fun I'm stalking)
(eeeee)
(This looks so COOL!)
“Um, do you sleep?” she asked, curious.
"Not really, no," Four admitted, looking up.
“I suspected as much. Can you fall in love?”
"I don't see why not," Four admitted. "If I met the right person."
"Hmmm. So your. . . program makes you behave almost exactly like a human being."
Four looked away, but he nodded.
"Yes, I suppose it does…"
"That's pretty cool, Four. If you don't mind the compliment."
"I don't mind." Four did, of course. That he was nothing more than a mimicry to Orion. That he wasn't a real person.
"Your feelings are basically written across your face, you know. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings."
"It's fine, really." Four did his best to put up a poker face, not sure what to do now.
"Oh, don't be a prick. I'm apologizing, and I hope you take it seriously."
"I am." Four felt fear grip at his spine, but he didn't let it show. He wasn't making Orion upset, was he? He… He didn't want the phone turned off again.
"Are you sure you are? Because I want an honest answer."
"I'm sure, really." She… she couldn't tell, right? How much it bothered him still? He was hiding it from the screen, but he knew Orion was looking through the code. The user couldn't… read his thoughts, could she?
It was terrifying to think of how easily she could learn everything, it was wrong.
"Look, Four. I can tell that you're still weirded out. The only way this is going to work is if you communicate with me, okay? So I need you to tell me what's wrong."
"There's nothing wrong. I just… this is all weird." Four gestured some. "Not having the Code dictate what I can and can't say, being able to tell you all of this… It's strange."
She sat back. "Thank you for your honesty. I appreciate it. Is it a nice weird?"
"I'm… still not sure. It's nice, yes, in some ways, but… ther are some things I just don't know about." Four shrugged some, looking up.
