"The glitches- it's the coding put in place to keep us from revealing too much." Three looked up at the screen, shaking his head some.
"The glitches- it's the coding put in place to keep us from revealing too much." Three looked up at the screen, shaking his head some.
"I think I get it. Okay. Don't answer this if it will hurt you in any way, but could I tamper with the code to change that?"
No change in dialog, but Three's eyes did widen some. He pulled his hand to himself, looking… hopeful.
"Okay. Alright. I don't know a whole lot about coding. I could completely destroy your entire system. Do you think it's worth it?"
Three's eyes widened some in shock and horror. No! He did not want Orion poking around if that could happen!
"Right, right. Okay. I'll try and mess with some other codes to see what I can do. Sound good?"
Three hesitated, then nodded slightly. They still couldn't say anything new, since Orion hadn't touched them- and the energy bar she had showed she could only touch him one more time.
"I'm going to stop now. So if I need to ask you something I can. Because of the energy bar. Here, I'll sit at my computer and work, but I'll keep the app open."
Three hesitated once, then nodded. He waited patiently, unable to keep himself from keeping a close time on how much time he had left. Half an hour until Four.
She logged into her computer and went to her coding program. "I'm going to go into the files of the app for a minute, but don't freak out, okay?"
Three nodded, looking up with concern for what she would find.
And what she would find would be a hot mess.
"What is this? Do you know how to decipher this? Hundreds of missing semicolons. Wait. I'm gonna add a semicolon at the end of a line and we'll see what happens. Sound good?"
Three hesitated at the question, but nodded slowly. Hopefully, it wouldn't have too much of an adverse response.
"Okay. Here we go." She carefully tapped a single key and waited for the response.
Three gasped silently once the semicolon was added, reeling back and shaking his head. His hands went to his held, holding his temples in what could be taken as pain.
"Sorry, sorry!" She deleted it quickly. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."
Three was taking silent deep breaths, looking up with pain in his eyes. He shook his head some as the pain suddenly left, trying to show Orion he was okay.
"This is a disaster. Do you want me to try another line? Or no." She began copying the code onto her computer.
Three shook his head again. It was too dangerous. He didn't notice as Orion made a copy of all of the code and put it on her computer, his hand going to his head again.
"Okay. What is the next step, then?"
Three shrugged some, wrapping his arms around himself. He had no idea anymore. All he knew was he had… ten minutes left.
"I'll try and work on this later, alright?" She looked down at him. "I'll do my best."
Three nodded, holding his hand out for Orion to touch him again. He didn't have much longer, and he had one last thing he wanted to say.
She tapped his hand.
"Thank you," Three said, looking up through the screen. "For trying to help us. It really does mean a lot…"
