She nodded and untied the bundle, switching their stuff into the cloak and grabbing her clothes. She picked them up and pointed at a decently sized tree, "I'm going to go change, alright?" She asked, already walking over to the tree and stopping behind it so that he couldn't see her.
Miles grumbled, "Alright then….." And he snuggled down to take his nap. Well…. That would be simply awkward if it did turn out to be that way….
She changed quickly and tried to wring out her wet clothes as much as she could, walking back over to Miles and laying them out on the ground before sitting down next to him. She hummed softly and looked around, wondering what they were going to do with the pile of fish from the river.
He put his chin on her thigh, inviting her to pet him. "Are you ready for another nap?…." He let out a sigh through his nose. "Because I'm getting a bit tired…"
She reached a hand over and started petting him, "A nap sounds quite nice right now." She laid back and propped herself up on her elbows, still petting him.
"Or maybe a nice long nap until morning…." He murmured, snuggling into her lap. "I bet we could both use the rest…."
"That sounds even better," She said softly, laying down and smiling. She closed her eyes and just focused on running her fingers through Miles' fur, quite happy that he was nice and warm and snuggly.
Miles was lulled to sleep by Emmeline's petting, going off into a nice deep sleep. Don't stop petting….
Emmeline stayed awake for a few minutes after she felt him fall asleep, looking around before drifting off to sleep slowly.
Miles woke up to the sound of rushing water and chirping birds. He pried an eye open and lifted his head up. Huh….? He glanced at his hands, and they were no longer all covered in fur, and he glanced down, seeing he was back to his normal human self, the bandages loose around his leg. "Finally…." He said with a breath. He waited for a moment, still feeling Emmeline's hand in his hair from when he was still a wolf. I'm glad she cares.
She was still out cold, exhausted from splashing in the water last night. Her mouth hung open ever so slightly and she rolled onto her side, staying close to Miles for warmth and comfort.
Miles didn't want to wake her up, yet he had to sit up a little to change his sleeping position. "Emmeline…." He said softly, tucking a hair strand out of her face. Why am I trying to wake her up??? He lied down next to her and put his arm around her to keep her warm.
She made a shushing noise, holding up her hand weakly to say 'Five more minutes'. A content smile appeared on her face when she felt his arm around her and she ran a hand absentmindedly through his hair.
Fine, I'll give you five more minutes…. He thought contently, but flushed when he felt her hand in his hair. Oh, I bet she still thinks I'm a wolf, doesn't she…? Miles finally closed his eyes again to drift off into a light, napping sleep.
She shivered and pulled closer to him, grateful for his body heat. After five more minutes of sleep she rolled onto her back, slowly waking up.
Miles was still asleep when she was waking up, but he didn't wake when she rolled over. …Just five more minutes…..
She yawned and pressed her eyes shut tighter before slowly opening them, jumping when she saw Miles back in his human form. She sighed and rubbed her eyes, reminding herself that he said he might be human by morning.
Miles felt Emmeline shift around and he sat up. He let out a small chuckle. "What? Are you surprised to see me as a human as you were when you saw me outside the window as a werewolf for the first time?"
"I forgot that you said you might be human by morning and it scared me.." She said, blushing slightly as she woke up, "It's too early and I'm too tired to remember facts like that."
Miles sat up more. "Right…" He stood up and stretched a little, flexing his muscles before taking in a deep breath of fresh air. "Are you ready to head out? Or do you need five more minutes?" He smirked.
Emmeline shrugged and sat up as well, "I'm ready to go whenever." She started humming again softly before laying back down and looking at the sky, rubbing her eyes as her stomach growled.
Miles turned back and stared down at her. "Well, it sure seems like you're totally pumped… Maybe it'd be best to just chill for a while…" He sat back down next to her. "I mean… My leg is all better, so we aren't in a total hurry or anything…"
She nodded softly, "Alright, though we have to remember that the hunters might still be looking for you." She sat up and looked at him leg, "Is the wound still open?" She asked, "Because the bandages seem quite loose."
