Miles went to the creek bank and sat himself down under a tree. "Maybe if we try hard enough we can catch some small fish or something….."
She followed him and sat down next to him, looking at the creek, "Maybe..Do you want me to try?" She yawned and set their things down, looking over at him.
"You seem tired…. I mean, you can try, but I don't know if you want to if you're nodding yourself off to sleep," He chuckled a bit. "It's also quite dark under all these trees…."
"I don't mind trying, if you want me to," She said, forcing her eyes to open more so that she looked more awake, "But if you think it can wait until morning I'll happily get some sleep.."
"Why don't you at least try it? I think it'll be fun to watch you splash around in the dark," Miles laughed, trying no longer to hold it in.
She nodded and smiled, rolling up her pant legs as she got up and walked to the creek. "Is there even fish in here?" She asked, looking back at him.
"I would assume there is… I don't know for sure…." Miles took his stuff off and got in the water without shame. The floor was nice and sandy and not incredibly murky and mushy. He shot his hand in the water, splashing water all over Emmeline. "See?" He took out a perch fish or whatever small fish live in creeks. "There's one right here."
A small squeak came from her when he splashed her and she smiled, dipping her hand in the water and flicking it at him with a nod. "I'll try my best," She said, wading into the water.
Miles shook his head, his ears flicking wildly. "Well alright then," He said, pretending to be unaffected by her splash. "Just make sure you don't get leeches on your hands and legs." He splashed her again, chuckling a rich laugh.
"I'll be ok," She said, laughing lightly as she looked down at the water. It was cold but not freezing as it ran over her legs, though she didn't see any fish quite yet.
Miles went around and plucked fish out of the river like it was no one's business, one by one. Soon he had a small pile going off by their stuff. "I don't understand why it's taking you so long," He said, splashing her a little more.
She motioned for him to be quiet as her hand darted into the water and she tried to grab a fish, barely missing it. "I don't understand how this is so easy for you, I can't grab the fish without it swimming away." She said, flicking water back at him.
"You just have to be faster," He shoved his hand down and gripped a fish with death, pulling it out. "And since your hand is smoother you need to grab it harder…" He splashed some water on her and wait until the fish stopped squirming in his hand before he put it with the rest.
(You know how much I want Miles to slap Emmeline with a dead fish?)
(XDXD yesssss that would be hilarious ^w^)
"I'll try," She said with a smile, scooping water up in her hands and throwing it at him, "As soon as you stop splashing me that is." She shifted her footing and looked down at the water, dipping her hand in again as she tried, and failed, to grab another fish.
(Lol ' w ')
"I'll stop splashing you once you learn that you can't catch a fish by wishing for one…" He splashed her again and went back to work. Miles shot his hand back in the water and caught another one, but this fish was much larger than the others, stretching to about a foot in length. He glanced back at Emmeline and smirked. Wouldn't that be a shame…? He had a strong grip on the wriggling fish and he got it wet again before playfully slapping Emmeline in the behind with the fish, killing it upon impact.
(Uuuahhhh!)
She yelped, jumping out of the water slightly and falling onto her butt in the water. "Miles!" She said, glancing back at him and scowling, though it soon turned into a challenging grin, "You're not getting away with that, you know that right?" She stood back up and started towards him, almost completely soaked from the fish and from falling into the water.
Miles backed away. "Whoa whoa, what do you think you're doing, woman?" He held his hands up, still a tight grip on the fish. "Don't make me slap you again, you hear!?" He yelped, raising his arm up high.
"You wouldn't," Emmeline laughed and scooped up more water in her hands, throwing it at him, "And since when did you start calling me 'woman'?" She continued towards him, holding in another laugh.
"What else am I gonna–" He was drenched in her handful of water, and he whined, bending his ears back. "You want to play that game, huh?" He challenged, standing his ground and shoving her backwards into the river. "How do you like that? Huh!?" Miles barked playfully.
She laughed before being shoved backwards, landing on her back with a splash. She sat up and wiped the water out of her face before scooping more water up and throwing it at him, "I'm not pushing you into the river, I'm just throwing water at you." She smiled lightly, now completely drenched.
"Doesn't matter," Miles smirked, kicking some more water at her. "I can do whatever I want within reason!" He towered over her, glaring down at her with a strange look on his face.
She splashed more water at him, "The keywords there are 'within reason'," She said, looking up at him with a grin, "You're going to apologise for smacking me with a fish though."
He grumbled lowly and sighed gruffly. "Fine – I'm sorry for slapping your ass with a fish, okay?" His face seemed grumpy, yet he grinned. "But you seemed strangely okay with that – I mean, you didn't try to kill me like I thought you would." He trudged back over and set the dead fish down on the pile, and shook himself, getting all the water out of his fur.
"I wouldn't kill you," She said, following him over to the tree and trying to wring out as much water as she could from her clothes, "I don't really have any dry clothes that I can put on though, they're holding our stuff in a bundle. That's the only thing that I'm a little concerned about, though slapping my butt wth a fish is a very close second." She pointed at the bundle and huffed, wiping her wet hair out of her face.
"Then here," He tossed his cloak to her. "Take them out of the clothes and put them in that. Just make sure you don't rip it or anything stupid like that." He lied down on his blanket. "And…. I mean…. I can always keep you warm if you want…."
