Emmeline rubbed her eyes and groaned, rolling onto her back before sitting up. She hadn't slept well and it was quite visible.
Emmeline rubbed her eyes and groaned, rolling onto her back before sitting up. She hadn't slept well and it was quite visible.
Miles rolled around in his sleep as sunlight caught his eyes. Damn… He pried them open and rubbed at them, still laying in his bed. "Good morning," He croaked deeply. …I try so hard to sleep deep and well….
She groaned in response, laying back down and covering her eyes with her hands. "Stupid..no sleep..terrible day.." She muttered to herself, removing her hands from her eyes and glaring at the ceiling. No one had ever seen this side of her, it was going to make the day much more interesting.
Miles sat up, glaring at her. She obviously didn’t sleep well…. I should just leave her alone….. He threw the blankets off and swung himself out of bed, stretching his legs and arching his back to get the soreness out. He then stood, staring at her for a second before saying, “You want something to eat?” I should at least try….
"Yes." She said, still just glaring at the ceiling. Eventually she sat up and glared at the wall in front of her, standing up slowly and stretching before sitting right back down on the edge of her bed.
Miles headed into the kitchen, getting his stove ready to make some eggs. I hope she’s not picky when she’s like this… that can be a whole other issue….. When the time was right, he put them in the pan and they began to sizzle nicely.
She stood up again and walked to the kitchen, her eyes half closed. She sat down loudly on a chair and watched Miles cook.
Miles flinched when she sat down, and he whipped his head to stare at her. “Geez…. what’s wrong with you??” He asked, slightly rude. I can understand somewhat that yesterday was a bit rocky…. but this??? I don’t know why. I think she went to bed early….. He finished the eggs and served them up, handing her a plate. “I guess we’re holding off on the garden as long as you’re this tired,” Miles chuckled, but his smile faded. Yeah…. sure thing….
She took the plate and started eating, "I can work on the garden. I need something to do anyway." She said, her voice almost emotionless sounding.
“No,” Miles said flatly. “If you’re hungry, you eat. If you’re thirsty, you drink. If you’re tired, you take a nap, and that’s exactly what you’re gonna end up doing as long as you’re like that.” Why is she tired anyways????
Emmeline opened her eyes wider and put on a fake smile, "Better?" She said through her teeth, dropping the act as she continued to eat.
He shook his head. “Do you really wanna masqueraid through the day like that?” I won’t allow breaks unless I say so… Miles finished eating and set the plate in the bucket. “I mean…. remember what I said. And this kind of thing needs to be done as soon as possible….”
"I'm just going to go start." She finished eating and stood up, putting her plate in the bucket and stretching again. "Where do you want the garden?" She asked, walking out of the kitchen in a little better mood than before.
“Probably just out in the back over here,” He waved in the area opposite from the front door. “…I don’t like people watching me work…..” Miles grabbed the braces and nails from the counter where Emmiline put them the day before and headed out to the very back where he had plotted some land earlier that week. It was even lined with sticks. He set the fixings down on the ground. So…. I wonder how this is gonna go down….
She grabbed the shovel from where she saw Miles get it from before walking over to where he said to put it. She looked at the ground and got to work, drowning out the rest of the world.
Miles worked all day, going back and forth from where he stored the wood to build the shed, wearing himself out in no time flat. It was when he was putting up the barn door when he just collapsed from pure exhaustion. He was sweating from head to toe, and he was wondering if he took himself too literally. I suppose a break would be nice…. I know I can’t do it all in one day, but I may as well get the bulk out of the way…. He was laying there, panting with his throat dry and sore. I don’t think heading back inside is a bad idea….
Emmeline had taken a break a while ago and she sighed, leaning on the shovel for support. The garden was almost done, besides a few touch ups here and there and maybe a small fence around it to keep the animals out. She shook her head and started to work again, determined to finish the garden before taking another break.
Miles still lied in the grass, breathing hard. Damn… I feel so out of it right now… Even after a full night of sleep I feel like garbage… It was nice to just sit there and do nothing, but it nagged him that he should get the shed done before another werewolf cycle hit him and he was forced to sleep outside again. I'll take my time…. I have two or three days anyway….
"Ok, I'm done for now." She said, tossing the shovel to the side and looking at the garden. It definitely wasn't the best, but she had done a decent job.
Miles barely glanced over. "Looks great," He said, exasperated. "I always…. Wanted a garden." With the help of his axe, he finally got to his feet. "I'll make it better tomorrow…"
"Cool, now it's time for a nap," She shook her arms out and sat down, looking up at the sky.
Miles got near enough to be in a conversational distance and fell to the ground in a heap, laying in the grass. "I could skip dinner and go to bed right now if I felt like it," He said, straightforward. I could sleep all day after work like that….
"Same, that was tough," Emmeline laid back on her back and closed her eyes, covering them with her arm. She thought about just sleeping there, the grass was comfy enough and she didn't mind being a little cold at night.
"So…." Miles squirmed about a little to warm himself up before putting hid arms under his head. "How do you like building that garden?"
She chuckled and shook her head "I never want to do it again. I'll stick to the easy stuff, like cooking and taking care of the garden, but not building it."
