(Meme line? I'm cryin XD)
Miles was just about to doze off when Emmiline called his name. "I'm coming, don't worry…" He put his book down and headed into the kitchen, grabbing bowls from the appropriate shelf. "Here… I think you might need this…." He handed one off to her.
(Stupid autocorrect XD I'm on my phone rn and it always corrects her name to that XD)
She nodded and took the bowl from him, carefully pouring some of the soup into it. "Tell me how it tastes," she said, looking for a spoon as we blew on the soup to cool it down.
Miles just held the bowl to his lip and barely blew on it before he tasted it. "Could use salt if I had any…." He said a tad quietly. "But it otherwise it isn't half bad." Miles drank at it, sitting back down in his seat. She's better with food than I initially thought….
Emmeline followed his example, drinking it straight from the bowl. "At least it's not terrible," She said, draining the bowl before setting it in the bucket of water for dishes.
Miles finished his and put the bowl in the bucket. “Well, then…. I guess this would be the time to plan that garden or whatever you wanted earlier…..” He thought about it and then glared at her. “….What kind of garden are you even thinking about anyways?” Because remember…. this is my property…. I get to choose what I put on it.
"I was thinking just a vegetable garden, maybe a few herbs too but it doesn't have to be anything big." She said with a small shrug, leaning against the table. She drew an imaginary box on the table and started dividing it into columns, "Maybe some carrots here. Then potatoes or something else right here," She pointed to the first two columns, "everything else can be put wherever."
(Welp, just learned that school is canceled for me because it's too icy :D)
(We might not have school on wednesday because of freezing rain…. 0.0)
Miles shrugged. “Yeah, that sounds nice.” He headed into a storage room, pulling out his shovel. “Do you want to get to work or just wait for tomorrow?” I’m not really feelin’ it today anyways…. but if she wants something to do….
Emmeline shook her head "You need to finish resting, it can wait until tomorrow," She looked around the kitchen and nodded, "I can start on the garden and you can work on your shed."
He rolled his eyes. “Fine…. It can wait until tomorrow.” Since when was she allowed to dictate my wellness??? Miles trudged back into his room to retrieve his towel. “I’m going to take a bath, if that’s okay with you….”
"Sure, I'm going to clean up and then go to bed." She nodded and looked at the bowls in the water, starting to wash them. "Just please don't make me come get you again, ok?"
He chuckled. “I can’t keep any promises….” Miles went off and shut the door behind him, filling the tub with water from the water pump and shut the curtains, climbing inside. It’s always important to stay clean… especially when you’re rolling around and getting your fur dirty all the time…..
Emmeline finished washing the bowls and she set them aside to dry before walking to her bed and flopping down on it, looking at the roof and humming to herself.
Miles washed himself nicely and decided to have a nice rest in the tub. Don’t worry… I like to chill in the bathtub…. He got his hair wet and washed it thoroughly. It’d be nice if I could spend all night in here….. but then I’d freeze to death….
She sighed and closed her eyes, trying her best to not fall asleep. She tapped her hand against her leg and continued humming.
Miles shuffled around in the water, getting himself comfortable before he began washing again. Man… I'm just feeling like I should live in the bathtub… It wasn't before long that he began to sing – not hum, not whisper to himself – in some kind of luscious, deep rich voice.
Emmeline felt herself drifting off to sleep when she heard Mile's voice. She listened and smiled, tempted to join in just to mix things up but she decided against it, falling asleep even though she tried not to.
Miles finished up for good, draining the tub and climbing out. He dried off and put his pants back on once more, opening the curtain and heading out to his bedroom, where Emmiline was sleeping.
He ruffled the towel through his hair and walked to the window, closing the curtain for privacy. I gotta get to bed… Miles sat on the edge of his bed, with his towel around his neck.
She continued to sleep, rolling onto her stomach and putting her arms under her head. Her eyelids fluttered lightly and she pulled her legs up closer to her chest as she slept.
Miles glanced over as Emmiline shuffled around, and he let out a breath through his nose. Damn…. She is right…. What is she still doing in my house??? The thought baffled him, but he didn't want to think about it too hard to the point where the meaning of life came into play. Oh well. In a few days I may have to have her leave… She can't stay with me forever….
Yet after just looking at her, he shook his head. No…. I can't let her go back to the way she used to be… That would be too hard to watch. He became unsettled and stood up with a grunt, dropping his towel on the chest at the foot of his bed. I hafta quit thinking about this deep stuff…. He paced about and climbed into his bed, laying there and letting his mind drift.
She mumbled something in her sleep and shifted again, rolling onto her side and falling silent.
Miles pulled his blankets back and climbed into bed, getting comfortable before falling asleep.
(Timeskippy?)
(Sure, the next morning sound good?)
