"Aww, you're no fun…" Lloyd sighed and let Ellis drag him away. "I've already been in there for hours…"
"Aww, you're no fun…" Lloyd sighed and let Ellis drag him away. "I've already been in there for hours…"
Ellis led him back inside. "Yes, well, you got shot, your highness."
"I'm not even going out into town… just out to get some fresh air. It's so stuffy everywhere…" Lloyd stumbled a bit.
Ellis ducked under his arm. "No. We can open a window in your room."
Lloyd sighed again. "Alright, alright…" He let Ellis pull him along back to his room.
Ellis led Lloyd over to the bed, then went over to open the window. "There."
Lloyd huffed indignantly, sitting cross legged on his bed while he watched Ellis open the window. "When can I go outside?"
(gtg soon sorry)
Ellis looked at him. "When you heal, or when you use crutches." he replied, coming back over to Lloyd.
(Np)
Lloyd sighed. "But the crutches are so humiliating…" He fidgeted with his wings a bit.
"Well, it's either use crutches or be bedridden, your highness." he replied.
"Being injured is not very fun… I would not recommend it." He lay back on his bed and stared at the ceiling.
"Yes, I know." Ellis said, not sure if he should sit down or not.
"At least I tend to heal faster than humans… I'm going to go crazy stuck in here. For some reason, this is different than when I'm normally stuck in here all day."
"Just use crutches. For god's sake, you were shot." Ellis replied, shaking his head at Lloyd.
"I'm so weak… I can't believe I let my guard down enough to get shot. To get shot twice, no less." Lloyd sighed and ran his fingers through his hair.
"Lloyd, it isn't your fault." Ellis said, shaking his head again. "You aren't weak."
"I'm supposed to be some war hero or something and I can't even take a couple shots. I'm pathetic."
He rolled his eyes. "Wah." he shook his head again. "What's pathetic is all this whining about it."
Lloyd flushed a bit and stared down at his bed. "I just feel so weak…" He whispered. "I hate it. I can't even walk without collapsing right now."
Ellis sighed softly, rubbing his face. "That's what crutches are for, your highness. You aren't weak, alright?"
Lloyd glanced up at Ellis meekly, still seeming frustrated and upset with himself. "I don't know what it is about this, but I just feel so… bad. Like it's my fault that I got shot and I'm immobilized now. And… and that my father's going to be furious with me for ruining our public image by humiliating myself like this. I can't leave the palace with crutches or a wheelchair or something. For whatever reason, it feels humiliating."
"It isn't your fault you got shot." Ellis said, cautiously sitting down on the edge of the bed. "You're going to be fine, okay?"
Lloyd hesitated before nodding stiffly, but he kept his gaze firmly on his bed. "I… I don't want him to be angry with me. I've seen it firsthand a few times, and the aftermath with Nathaniel more times than I can count."
Ellis took a deep breath at that. "I get that. But…if you keep walking without a crutch or something, you're going to injure yourself worse."
Lloyd nodded again. His wings had subconsciously curled up around him to shield him a bit. "I know, I know… I don't know why it's so difficult for me, but it is…"
