The worst part was, Simon was all those things. At least, now he was. He hadn't been before, but… well, Simon had grown so much on Astral, there was no way the god could hurt Simon again.
The worst part was, Simon was all those things. At least, now he was. He hadn't been before, but… well, Simon had grown so much on Astral, there was no way the god could hurt Simon again.
Simon burrowed more into Astral’s chest, letting out a content sigh. Then a question occurred to him. He stopped reading for a second, looking over at Astral. “Hey Astral? How long do you think I’ve been here now?”
"Ah…" Astral had to think a long moment on that.
"I'm not entirely sure," the god admitted softly. What had Simon figured out? Had… had he missed a period?
“Hmmm..” he shrugged. “It doesn’t really matter, I was just wondering. I just…I already feel so comfortable here.” He smiled widely at Astral.
"Well, I'm glad you do." Astral smiled back, so relieved at the moment. "This place won't ever stop being safe for you in the future, kay?"
He nodded, his smile widening. “Kay.” He responded, laughing a bit. He wrapped his arms around Astral, hugging the taller man tightly. “Thank you..” he whispered.
Astral hugged Simon in turn, holding him close.
"You're welcome…" Astral smiled softly, his head bending down to rest lightly on Simon a moment.
“You really have just….done so much for me. I don’t know how I could ever repay you.” He said, choking up a bit, keeping his face hidden in Astral’s chest.
No. No no no, no. Simon, he, he couldn't-
"You don't need to," Astral swore softly, closing his eyes and so damned close to crying. "You… you don't ever need to, Simon."
“If you say so….” he said softly, not at all aware of the internal struggle Astral was going through. “But still, thank you.”
Astral nodded his head mutely, holding Simon close. Damnit, he can't break down, not now. Not with Simon…
Simon kept his arms wrapped around the other, not really wanting to move. So he wouldn’t be able to see Astral borderline breaking down. He began to hum softly, just relaxing.
Astral focused on Simon's humming, forcing his breathing to even out. No, no, he would have time later… he had to keep Simon happy for now. The god relaxed, hugging Simon for a moment.
Simon giggled softly when he felt Astral hug him too. The difference between how Simon was now versus when he’d gotten here was absolutely insane.
((Simon might accidentally pull out the “I love you” ngl))
(No I will not let him, it's my job to make you cry >:| )
Astral knew it would all go away, though… but he didn't want it to. He… goddamnit, he'd… give up the child if it meant keeping Simon happy at this point.
((Sounds like a personal problem bud >:| ))
Simon felt himself already getting tired, and felt a bit angry about it actually. He didn’t want to sleep, he wanted to stay awake with Astral. ‘Stupid body…’ he thought to himself.
((Good morrow))
(Hola!)
Astral kept his head on Simon's for now, humming some. He was calmed down, thankfully, keeping his eyes closed. He… he couldn't look at Simon for a time, not yet.
Simon sat back up with a yawn, leaning into Astral again shortly after sitting up. He reopened his book, continuing to read, starting to hum along with Astral. After a moment he stopped humming, looking up at the other man. “Are you okay?” He asked gently, reaching a hand up to mess with Astral’s hair. “You got really quiet there for a second…”
((Hhhhhh I’m so sorry I know I do this a lot I’m just having a really shitty day and I need a distraction it’s completely fine for you to ignore this though if you want to I just a h- I’m sorry ;-;))
(nono, please bump this and the other whenever you need to!! Usually with me, I have burn out but perceived pressure (it's not real I promise, and it's not bad either) to respond helps me come up with things)
Astral leaned into Simon's hand, letting out a soft breath.
"I just don't, don't like the thought of you being hurt," the god admitted, voice so quiet.
((okay thank you ;w;. I’ll try not to bump excessively though lol))
He….didn’t know how to feel about that. Quite literally, only one other person before he’d come here had ever felt bad over what he’d gone through. “Well it’s a good thing that I won’t have to get hurt any more then, isn’t it.” He pointed out, his heart melting a bit more. “Everything’s okay now. If I hadn’t gone through all that hurt, I wouldn’t have made it here, now would I?” He knew he’d told himself not to trust Astral, not to let himself care too much. But seeing the god like this made it so hard. Simon just wanted to console him, and make him happy.
((Boop doop good mornin))
(Eeeeeeeee morn')
"It is. It's a very, very good thing…" Except it couldn't be, because that wasn't how things were going to go. Astral couldn't fix it.
"Yes, I suppose that's true." It would have been better for Simon in the long run anyway."
He smiled. “See I told you so, everything’s okay.” He leaned forward, planting a gentle kiss on Astral’s forehead. “All better now.” He didn’t like seeing the god sad. Especially over him.
