"I love you too" she choked on her own tears, a whimper of heartbreak coming from her lips.
"I'm sorry I lied to you… " she wetted the collar of his his shirt with her ongoing tears as she buried her face in the space between his shoulder and neck.
"And I forgive you," King told her softly almost immediately after. He was a little surprised at how quickly and how honestly he really did forgive her. His lover was a killer. Not only a killer but something close to a psychopathic killer. And he was fine with that. He honestly was, "If you can forgive me for lying to you."
She nodded. It was almost embarrassing to her. He knew she was crazy. Hurt so badly to. The core that she was driven to such monstrousities. In her mind she was making the world a better place for so many subjects to abuse.
King just held her. His mind went through everything he knew about Mercy, which was just enough that he could connect her victims, and then connecting that to Aria pulled on his heart even further. Everything this poor girl had been through. He pulled her closer and kissed the top of her head, "Do you want to go somewhere private?"
Forcing herself to stop crying, she looked back at him, though quickly looking away. She wanted nothing more than to be with him, but she also hated for him to see her like this.
Nodding, she turned back to him with a sniffle. Guess she wasn't going to kill anymore men tonight. Maybe for a while… Who knew
King went and wiped away her remaining tears. He was fine with her not talking. He let go of her and reached for her hand and asked her quietly, "Do you want to go to my apartment or your house? It's up to you okay?"
"I would prefer your place. I'm more comfortable there. Ironic I know…" she says running her hand up and down her arm before speaking again "where you going to say to your boss… Or whoever sent you out here?" she looked up at him in concern.
"I'll figure something out," King responded putting his mask back on. He didn't want to get found out, "I always do when I get into these situations. You probably got here on your own right? Think you can drive over to my apartment on your own? I'm sorry, but I don't. I can't risk being seen with you. But I'll drive you if you need me to."
"no, that's fine. I can drive. Ive remembered your address by now" she says with a small weak laugh as she made her way to the motorcycle. Slinging her leg over it, the tight leather over her body was actually really comfortable to her. But she liked tight things. It showed off her curves like none other too.
She looked back at him with a small Smile, turning back to the motorcycle and turning it on. "get on before the sides get too hot"
King smiled at her and went to his own bike. He laughed a little as he got onto his own motorbike. There was a different place he had to park the bike since he never risked it being close to his actual apartment, "I've got my own motorcycle you know. I'll see you at my apartment okay?"
"oh okay" she says with a small laugh of confusion.
Soon she pulled out and was on his way to the apartment in no time. Stopping In the front a little bit before King arrived. What was she even going to say to him?
King rode over to his usual parking spot before he unmasked and made his way to his apartment on foot. He walked up to her with a soft smile unsure as to what to say next other than open the door and invite her in. At least Preston was in tonight otherwise he might have more questions than he would have wanted.
She quietly and awkwardly followed him inside. Unlike any of the times she come into his apartment.
"I'm sorry… I really am. I didn't want to lie to you. And… And I know I already apologized but I just needed to say it again. I didn't mean to hurt you if I did" she looked back to him as her eyes watered more.
King made sure the door was shut and slipped his gloves off revealing his pale white scarred hand. He reached up and wiped away her forming tears, "You're fine Ari. You're perfectly fine. I'm more of a danger to my well being than you are."
She spotted his scarred hands, feeling a bit bad for his burns. Letting his hand wipe away the soft tears, she leaned into his hand a bit.
“Same goes for me” she let out a small nervous laugh, trying a little bit to lighten the mood.
King gave her a smile and a slight laugh. At least it wasn’t as awkward as it could be. His feet and body reminded him if his tiredness and he looked to Aria, “Yeah. Mind if we sit down?”
“Oh, yeah totally! Sorry, i didnt mean to keep you standing. Are you okay?” She asks sitting down (wherever they are?) and looking at him concerningly before she said anything else
(Living room I’d assume. So couch?)
King felt his heart melt just slightly at her concern for him. He held back his yawn as his body thanked him for letting him sit, “I’m fine, just a little tired. Using my powers without a crystal drains a lot of my energy. What about you? Are you okay?” His eyes were filled with concern knowing there was more beneath the surface with her.
(Okay, thats what I thought but i just wanted to make sure lol)
She wanted to make sure he was okay so she wasnt even really worried about herself or thinking the slightest of herself until he asked. Shrinking a little bit but quickly sitting up with her normal confidence she smiled, “oh of course. That man didnt even make a scratch” she says with a smile.
King smiled back at her. He noticed the slight moments but thought nothing of it. He was glad that the dead man hadn’t hurt Aria. Then he might actually have been glad he was dead, “Good.”
She kept the fake smile on her face though it darkened.
"what about you? You said it takes a lot of energy to use your powers without crystals?" she asked scooting over to him and grabbing his hand, looking at it with a little concern. She knew they were healing, but she felt bad. "what about these too? You didn't get hurt did you?"
"It's complicated," King responded after some thought. He had to think of the best way to explain how his abilities work, "If I store element energy in crystals, then yes I can, and most likely will, get hurt when I release it, but it also uses less energy. If I use my abilities without crystals I get drained faster, but I can't hurt myself. But I'm fine Ari. I promise."
"okay" she whispered with a small nod, shuffling over to him and cuddling up to his chest with a heavy sigh. "so what's gonna happen now?"
King wrapped an arm around Aria as she moved closer to him. He shrugged lightly, "I don't know. I, I can't stop doing hero work and I don't now anything about your situation. So, I guess, it's up to Aria."
She pulled away slightly and looked up to him. "stop your hero work? Don't do that simply because of me King" she says her hand on his chest before sliding down to his back, wrapping her arms around him again. "I don't want to make you quit doing what you want to"
