She stood and kicked the man in the face and left him to bleed to death all alone in the alley. "that's what you get. Men should think about the consequences before they ruin those little girls' lives" she hissed. Her voice full of hurt, pain, and pure disgust before Readjusting her white mask over her eyes, her pink hair falling over her back before she turned to see the one and only hero that's gonna save the day.
"oh! Finally you've come. I was waiting. Anyway, he's as dead right now." she says kicking him again.
"anyway, there's no point in stopping me." she cocked her hip to the side.
King didn't know whether to be shocked or impressed with Mercy. She really didn't seem to care about anything. He kept his dull sword in one hand and looked at her raising it up a bit. She also had a bad habit of breaking his no casualities record, but that was to be expected by such an insane woman, " There may not be a point in stopping you, but I can still take you to prison for your crimes."
"you can certainly try hot stuff" she smiled at him, more referring to their last "fiery" encounter.
"I won't stop until these bastard learn their lesson" she says looking down at the now dead man.
"it's such a shame though. I mean, I don't even have to use any powers and such." she laughed, running her hands through her pink hair. "they're just stupid. Men are easy to kill. Though so are women. But not as easy as men. They're so easily to fall into the trap of seduction, this they'll do whatever I want them to" she smirked, twirled her bloody knife around in her hand. "I think you're smart though. You seem like the type of loyal guy. I'm guessing you have a lover. How sweet" she says stepping up to him, now only about 5 feet apart. "if you get in my way, I'm gonna a have to kill you. So if that's your plans… Say goodbye to your little lady"
King readied for an attack from Mercy not missing the backhanded compliment of their last encounter. He had another fire crystal in hand as she continued her speech. No, he didn't have a lover (no matter how badly he wanted Aria to be his). He didn't allow himself to have one, and it was for this reason exactly. The distance between them narrowed and his eyes did too, "Your wrong about my so called lover. I don't have one, so there's nothing for me to lose. And I won't stop getting in your way until your brought to justice Mercy."
"well then guess you're going to have to die" she says stepping more into the light. Though she had her mask on, her pink hair was clearly visible now.
King recognized that pink tuff of hair. It, no, it couldn't be. Aria, Aria wasn't. He said nothing, showed nothing. He was too used to betrayal at this point to be bothered. His blue eyes flared in the light as he got into a ready stance, "I guess I am. Try your best Mercy."
She smiled, raising an eyebrow though he couldn’t see her eyes. “Well sorry, ive got too much to lose now to go to prison now.” She says thinking about King, though not letting him cloud her mind as he did so easily.
“Actually, after this i have a date to set up. So lets get this over with quickly shall we? I’m a rather impatient person” she says rolling her eyes. “Come at me” she crossed her arms, changing the scene around them as she did. Simply a pure black void. Shes been in this alley for a while, so she’s mesmerized the surrounding area. As she guessed he hadn’t to the specific object. She already had the advantage.
King watched as the alley went to black. He hadn't spent enough time to know the whole alley. He took a breath and used his own natural ability to send a minor tremor through the earth just so he could find his way around. He knew Ari-Mercy would feel the tremor, and he would be extremely drained afterward, but it was for the better. He stuck where he was trying not to show his new and apparent exhaustion, "So you've got someone you care about. Come at me if you really want to fight, I'm in no rush."
She felt the tremor, looking around visibly impressed. She made sure not to underestimate this guy. She didn't notice his exhaustion as she was focused on where to hit and how to do it.
“Oh I’d rather not. I don't kill the good guys. And you seem like one. Anyway, i would like to get on with my lovely night. Ive gotten about” she pretended to think about it, tapping her chin. “3 more men to kill. So ill be on my way” she says stepping back. She knew he was powerful. After fighting him in a cramped alley, she wouldn't have time or energy to kill anymore today. Nor to go on the date she had planned. She didn't want to be injured, and she knew he was good. So it was best to leave. But she didn't think he would let her get away that easily.
King hesitated when she said she didn't kill good guys. Moments ago she had been willing to kill him and now not so much? Maybe his tremor had scared her just enough, but she also said she had 3 more men to kill. He figured she didn't want to waste the energy to fight him and he didn't blame her. He didn't have the energy to fight her after that tremor and continued to stare her down, "I'm not letting you go if you plan on killing others tonight. I hope you understand that much."
“I said i don't kill good guys. I never said I wouldn’t hurt them. I will make you suffer, strip you from your pride and reveal who you really are, most likely blackmail you and anyone you love. I don't kill good guys. But i will hurt them. And that includes you. So don't get in my way hon” she says before stepping up the fragile stairs leading up to the roof, though it looked like in the black void she was simply walking up invisible steps.
King pointed his red crystal and a cloudy crystal and shot a wave of fire right where Mercy was heading. He didn't hit her, he. If she was who he thought she was, he couldn't bring himself to do it. He made his way carefully to where she was, "You can try, but you won't get far. Besides I can always do the same to you, not many people have that shade of pink hair, do they?"
She backed up at his wave, though stopped and shuddered at his comment.
Aria looked at him, her eyebrows stitched together before her heart dropped. She knew she recognized this mans voice but-
No, she simply denied it. Not King. “N-what?” She quickly regained her confidence. “I know a few girls actually. Why?” She stopped, looking down at him.
King heard her stutter. That almost confirmed it for her, this was Aria. He could feel his heart start to plummet though it was more numb than anything. He looked at her dead in the eyes now knowing full well that Aria was Mercy and he assumed she had figured out that he was King, "Because I'm thinking of one specifically."
(Okay so to make this a bit more heartbreaking lol. I was thinking maybe its been like a few months and theyve gotten like a lot closer. So that way they cant just drop eachother because they like are in love with each other or somethin?)
She looked to him in disbelieve. She jumped down and stepped up to the hero, her heart racing, though she felt like it was about to stop the second she saw his face. Hoping she wasnt going to see Kings face.
“Take it off” she says in a lower tone, her voice a bit shaky. “The mask…. take it off” she says ready to break down. But not here. No she wasnt about to here.
(I. Am. Hundred percent on board with this idea. Let the pain come.)
King watched as she walked up to him. He hated that he was about to do this, but he did it anyway. Reaching up he removed the mask letting his ocean eyes shine sadly as he looked at her. He still loved her, he couldn't help his feelings, "Hello Aria."
The dark void around them seemed to unwillingly turn to glass and shatter, revealing the dark alley once again when she took off her mask. Her face stitched with pain as her eyes swelled up with tears, a few falling down her face, dropping her mask to the ground. What an idiot she was. But she knew her pink hair would give her away someday. That was her stupid cocky plan in the beginning.
"no lover my ass" she says stepping on the mask, and crushing it into small light glass pieces as she stepped forward.
"I might've lied about that one detail," King responded honestly watching as the alleyway returned. He had done so to protect her. Everything he did was to protect and help the people he loved and cared about. Those he knew and those he didn't know. He felt like someone had stabbed him with a cold invisible dagger as he saw her tears, "I'm sorry."
()AH I THOUGHT I REplIED TO this ahsfbsidbsk)
(Lol you didn't. I wondered if that was the case.)
"for what? Youre a good guy King" he voice shivered and quaked with tears. Her arms hugging herself as she choked back a sob. "this is why neither of us wanted to actually start a relationship huh" she smiled at him weakly.
King felt hurt and betrayed yes, but his love for her overwhelmed all of that. He gave her a slightly sad smile back before moving towards her and pulling her into a hug. Despite her being a villain, he still cared about her, "Yeah. This is why neither of us wanted to start a relationship."
She broke down into a sob in his arms, gripping his shirt. "I… I thought I was protecting you King" she says, voice cracking and tears flooding her eyes before spilling out all over her cheeks
King held her close and one of his hands went up to thread his fingers into her hair. He leaned his head down against her, "Hey. Hey, it's okay. I thought I was doing the same, but we were both wrong. I, I love you Aria. A lot."
