"Right…" Zachary shook his head. "I hate this. I hate all of this."
"Right…" Zachary shook his head. "I hate this. I hate all of this."
"Me too… it's not going to go well regardless of the circumstances." Cas sighed softly.
"It's really not…" Zachary trailed off, resting his head on Cas.
"Mm…" Cas huddled up against Zachary and held tightly to him. "Hopefully everything will turn out alright…"
"Hopefully…" Zachary let out a breath, bringing Cas over onto his lap.
Cas rested his head on Zachary's shoulder and closed his eyes. "I love you…" He murmured.
"I love you too…" Zachary settled down into the kitchen chair, rubbing Cas's back with a soft hum.
Cas relaxed after a while, content to let Zachary hold him. "Should we head back into my room soon?"
"I think that would be a good idea," Zachary said, nodding.
Cas nodded a bit as well and reluctantly got up off of Zachary. "Alright. Let's go, then."
Zachary stood, grabbing his cane and leaning on it, his hand slipping into Cas's.
Cas carefully led Zachary back to his room and sat down on the bed with a soft sigh. "How are you feeling?"
"Physically? A lot better. Mentally… not so much. I'm worried, for everyone." Zachary let out a soft sigh, sitting down next to Cas.
"That's understandable…" Cas sighed softly and rested his head on Zachary's shoulder. "I'm worried about Nix especially. He's definitely doing worse than he lets on."
"He is," Zachary agreed. "After everything he's went through, he thinks he's being strong by not saying anything to us."
"Yeah…" Cas sighed softly. "He never wants to cause anybody any trouble, so he just keeps quiet about what's upsetting him until he explodes. I know what that feels like…"
"Mhm…" Zachary let out a breath, pulling Cas close to himself.
"I just hope he doesn't explode at the wrong person…"
"The thing is, he doesn't really seem to explode at people…" Cas sighed softly. "He's more letting things build up until he breaks down and cries. Mental breakdown type stuff."
"Oh… that's not going to be good, either." Zachary fell silent, trying to think of ways they could help.
"Yeah… not great." Cas fidgeted nervously with his hands. "He doesn't have a lot of self confidence or anything. He still seems to think that he's just an emotional support cat and it's his job to help other people, and he's neglecting his own feelings to do so."
"Which is really bad, since he was thrust so quickly into having complex human emotions," Zachary agreed. "He doesn't know how to deal with them on his own because he only knows how to help with others."
"Right. He hasn't really figured out how to handle feeling so much emotion, and he doesn't want to ask for help because he doesn't want to bother anyone. If we don't do something, seeing Halm might very well set him off…"
"And we don't have much time left at all to help him before we need to go back…" Zachary closed his eyes.
"Yeah… I really don't think that it's going to go well. He's trying to keep himself busy so he doesn't think about Halm."
"It doesn't help that Derlik is letting him." Zachary let out a breath. He didn't know what to do…
