"Oh… it's Nighttime already…?" Rowan sat up and rubbed at his eyes, yawning a bit.
"Oh… it's Nighttime already…?" Rowan sat up and rubbed at his eyes, yawning a bit.
"Yeah, it is…" Matthew hummed softly, his wing going around Rowan.
Rowan sighed softly. "Alright… I guess I should probably eat, then…"
"Mhm… Here." Matthew offered some bread, and fruit.
"Thanks…" Rowan started quietly eating, huddling up against Matthew's side. "Sorry for sleeping the whole day…"
"It's okay…" Matthew hummed, his arm going around Rowan so he could be closer to the man.
Rowan sighed and closed his eyes, letting Matthew hold onto him. "Hopefully I'll be able to actually do things soon…"
"Perhaps… but you're to rest, and not push yourself," Matthew said. His voice was soft, not trying to push Rowan too much.
"Okay, okay…" Rowan sighed a bit, huddling closer to Matthew. "It's just so infuriating not being able to do anything…"
"I get it," Matthew agreed. He gently rubbed Rowan's back, holding him close.
"Just wanna be able to walk and do stuff again…" Rowan yawned, toying with his hands.
"And the more you rest, the sooner you can get back to that fully," Matthew pointed out.
"But how am I supposed to get better if I just let myself get weaker in the meantime?" He asked.
"You're not letting yourself get weaker. Your body needs time to heal, and the more you push it the more you hurt it." Matthew let out a soft breath.
Rowan shrugged a bit. "I dunno… sleeping all day and barely eating doesn't seem that good to me."
Matthew thought a moment.
"If someone broke a leg," he finally said, "Would you think it would be better for them to get up and walk around?"
"It would probably be good for them to try and be a little active, yeah. Assuming they have a cast and stuff."
"But would you ask them to walk all day long, and call them weak when they can't?" Matthew continued.
"W-Well… no… but that's not what I'm trying to do. And I don't have a broken leg." Rowan sighed softly. "This is different."
"That's right. The venom affected your entire body, and the poison made it even worse. Your body needs to heal just as much as if you broke a leg, Rowan." Matthew let out a soft breath.
Rowan sighed softly. "But it's… it's just a snake bite. Snakes don't usually do this much damage in my world, I don't think…"
"Are you sure? There are no dangerous snakes at all?" Matthew moved to hug Rowan again, head on him.
"I mean, there are some dangerous ones, but I still don't think they'd be affecting my body this much after a while of being treated."
"Well, I don't think this is the same kind of treatment you'd get in your world. Not to mention the venom was in you for a bit, it could really mess with you in that time." Matthew let out a soft sigh.
Rowan looked away, still not convinced. "Maybe I'm allergic to snakes or something, I dunno…"
