Matthew smiled.
"It sounds a lot like you now," he said with a chuckle.
Matthew smiled.
"It sounds a lot like you now," he said with a chuckle.
Rowan flushed lightly and laughed. "Yeah, I guess so. I'm not rich and I don't get to live in any palaces, though. I also don't have any fancy ballgowns."
"Well, you do have a fancy robe. And money isn't everything. Besides, you'll make plenty of you open up shop here! And you get to build you're own house if you stay here. You can have palace of you want." Matthew smiled gently. "I'll help you build it!"
Rowan smiled softly as well. "Thanks, Matthew. I'll probably be alright without a palace, but I appreciate the thought."
Matthew smiled, nodding a bit.
"Alright then… The offer still stands, though." He chuckled softly.
Rowan giggled a bit and adjusted his hold on the nest. "Thanks, Matthew. Maybe we can start with a normal house."
"Okay then…" Matthew hummed gently, lightly touching the nest.
"And we'll make a fancy house for the birds, too."
"Yeah! They deserve a nice little birdhouse. We can get them one of those cool feeders too!" Rowan grinned.
Matthew smiled brightly.
"They'll love it," he said, holding Rowan close.
(Should we skip to the next stop?)
(sounds good to me!)
Rowan yawned a bit when they paused again, still keeping a firm hold on the nest. "Is it dinner time?" He asked.
Matthew nodded a bit. He was getting tired too. He brought the horses to a stop, slipping off and helping Rowan down.
"Here, I'll hold the eggs while you stretch," he offered.
"Alright, thanks." Rowan handed the eggs over to Matthew and headed over to a tree to help himself stretch.
Matthew hummed, holding the eggs carefully in his hands as he watched Rowan. He smiled.
Rowan soon returned and accepted the nest back from Matthew before sitting on the ground with it. "Y'all still doing okay?" He asked the eggs softly, brushing his fingers against them.
Matthew smiled at the interaction, moving to stretch himself.
"You're going to be a great dad to those birds," he commented, bending to touch his elbows to the ground.
Rowan flushed a bit and stuck his tongue out playfully. "Well, I'm gonna try my best, but I'm only eighteen. I don't really have a ton of parenting experience.
"Could have fooled me!" Matthew said, unabashedly looking between his legs at Rowan as he stretched. "You're doing great with them already."
"Glad you think so, Matthew." Rowan smiled softly and turned his attention back to the eggs to make sure they were doing okay.
Matthew finished up stretching, making his way over to Rowan.
"How are they doing?" He asked.
"They haven't moved or anything, but they are eggs, so… I'm pretty sure they're doing alright." Rowan smiled softly.
"They look good to me!" Matthew smiled, going about setting up camp again.
"Now, we're going to have to be careful about Sir Fluff this night…"
"Right… I wouldn't want him to hurt the eggs." Rowan held the nest close. "How are we gonna protect them?"
"We'll cover the opening," Matthew explained. "And wrap it up in your robe. I'll keep my eye on Fluff."
