"It probably won't be until when we need to camp for the night… perhaps we should get going?" Matthew slowly started to pull away from Rowan, just wanting to get out of this situation.
"It probably won't be until when we need to camp for the night… perhaps we should get going?" Matthew slowly started to pull away from Rowan, just wanting to get out of this situation.
"U-Um… yeah, sure…" Rowan hesitated before getting to his feet and brushing himself off. "Will you help me get onto the horse again?"
Matthew sat up as well, nodding.
"Of course." Matthew got up to his feet, heading back over to the horses.
Rowan trailed after Matthew and stood beside the horse, going ahead and putting his hands on its back in preparation.
Matthew slipped his hands around Rowan, picking him up and setting him on the horse. He pulled himself up after, right behind Rowan.
"How are you doing?" he asked.
"I'm… I-I'm alright…" Rowan replied weakly, closing his eyes once he was up on the house. "I'm fine… I'm ready to go."
Matthew wrapped his arm around Rowan, keeping close as he urged the horses on. They started off again, Matthew very aware of their surroundings.
Rowan eventually drifted off into a light sleep in Matthew's arms, finally relaxing atop the horse. He leaned back into the avian with his head under the other's chin.
Matthew glanced at Rowan, smiling faintly. He held the human close, wrapping his wings around them a bit so Rowan was a bit more secure.
Rowan was still asleep by their next stop, but he was out cold now. He was fully relaxed and seemed to be pretty comfortable for the time being.
Matthew brought the horses to a stop. He picked Rowan up, careful not to wake him. He slipped off the horse, setting up camp on his own. The horses could handle themselves when it came to food, but he made sure they were brushed and taken care off. He also set up a fire, making himself some food. He had Rowan laid next to him, watching over the human.
Rowan curled up on the grass a bit, smiling gently in his sleep. He seemed to be pretty comfortable now that he was bathing in the warmth of the fire.
Matthew ate quietly, looking at Rowan. Not wanting to awaken the other, he finished his food, laying down next to him. Fluff came over, snuggling between the two.
Rowan hugged Fluff when the griffin came close, smiling a bit more brightly. He yawned and tucked his head under Matthew's chin with a soft sigh.
Matthew wrapped his arms around Rowan, smiling gently before finally falling asleep…
Rowan was still asleep in the morning when Matthew woke up, his breathing relaxed and easy.
Matthew's eyes fluttered open to reveal he was snuggled right up next to Rowan. He blushed a bit, pulling away and gently shaking Rowan's shoulder.
"Mmmmm…" Rowan stirred when Matthew shook him and opened his eyes sleepily. "Matthew…? G'mornin…"
"Good morning," Matthew said gently. He sat up a bit, humming gently.
"What time is it…?" Rowan asked weakly, stretching and yawning as he struggled to get himself to wake up.
"It's about…" Matthew thought a moment, looking around. "seven? perhaps eight." He hummed softly, standing to work around the camp.
"Mmkay…" Rowan yawned again and sat up, running his fingers through his hair. "Do we have a plan for breakfast?"
"I can go out and forage a bit, if we want to variance from bread and cheese." Matthew stoked the fire back up, humming faintly with his sweet voice.
"Anything's fine with me as long as we're eating something. I'm starving." Rowan relaxed a bit when Matthew started the fire back up.
"Mm, how about this. I'll go foraging, but we can have some bread and cheese while I do." Matthew reached into the bag, pulling out some food for Rowan.
