(Cool!)
(Okay, I think I have a little bit of an idea, but it doesn't really have that much to do with any couple's thing. We could have a stranger find them out and threaten to hand them over to the guards unless they do something for the stranger– dunno what that would be, maybe steal something or kill someone or something– and they could get found out at the very end, arrested, put in jail, and set to be executed at some point. Maybe, on the day of the execution, they could escape/get rescued. Maybe they admit their feelings in the cell, or when they get arrested or something…? I don't know. This is just an idea, and we don't have to do it. I just couldn't find anything else…)
That sounds interesting.. Uhm.. I found a bunch of prompts that might give us ideas.. but I wasn't sure what to do with any of them.

(Ooh, the one with the "there's five people trying to kill us," and the "I just realized I've been shot" ones were pretty good. Those two might work well with the long paragraph of nonsense I wrote above, if you wanna do it.)
Yeah… let's go with that for now.
(Cheers! So, we're time-skipping to a few weeks later, yeah?)
(yeppers! Do you mind starting?)
(Sure! One last question, do you want to write the stranger, or do you want me to?)
Oci was sprawled across the couch, a book held a few inches above his face. He was deep into the book, practically deaf to everything around him. Late afternoon light streamed in through the cracks in the shutters over the windows, catching his blonde hair and making it shine like gold. It had only been a few weeks since they'd killed the king, but since he was trapped in the house for the most part of it, it had felt a lot longer to him. "Agh, you've got to be kidding me!" Oci hissed under his breath, eyes narrowing at the book. "That was stupid. Wrong." He appeared to have forgotten that the book was just a book, and was glaring at it as if it had personally wronged him.
(You can start him off, and depending on what happens I may jump in on writing him.)
Marco was lounging around in cat form again, for now having taken a spot on the back of the couch, glaring at Oci for interrupting his nap.
Oci growled quietly, momentarily contemplating simply flinging the book across the room. But he didn't want to ruin the book, and besides, he had to keep reading. A sudden knock on the door made him jump slightly. "Were we expecting visitors, Marco?" Oci asked, looking over at the cat. "Karia's not due to be here until tomorrow, right?"
Marco startled a little at the knock on the door, shaking his head no in answer to Oci's question as he shifted into a mouse and hopped down to crawl into Oci's pocket.
"Huh. Well, hopefully, they'll just go away, yeah?" Oci set down his book and crept towards the front door. He wanted to see who it was, just in case they had to get some stuff and run. He stepped as quietly as he could, peeking outside to see who it was. Not one of the guards, that was sure. He'd never seen the man at the door before. He stepped away from the door and was starting to turn back towards the living room when the door slammed open. Oci whirled around in shock to see a very tall man with forest green eyes and limp, brown, shoulder-length hair standing in the doorway.
"Well, well, well. If it isn't the great Ocean Kage, hiding away like a common criminal." The man laughed and stepped into the house, pulling the door closed behind him. A silvery scar caught Oci's attention, tracing its way from his right cheekbone down to his chin and disappearing under the collar of his jacket.
Marco flinched at the loud voice, staying quiet and hidden in the other's pocket, not even daring to peek out and see what was going on.
"Who the Ed are you?" Oci asked, one hand slowly making its way towards the knife he kept on himself at all times.
"My name is Rhees Moriart. And I wouldn't do that if I were you, Ocean." Rhees grinned widely and held up a sphere of light. "One tap of this and every guard around here comes running. I don't think you want that, now do you? So, drop the weapon and we can have a nice chat." He brushed past Oci into the living room. "Follow me." Oci glared after him, then glanced into the pocket Marco was in.
"What now?" Oci whispered, not really expecting a response.
"Oh, and you can tell the shifter hiding in your pocket to turn back into a human." Rhees yelled from the living room.
Marco winced when he was called out, tensing and clawing his way out of the pocket, shifting into a cat and staying that way out of annoyance, glaring at the newcomer.
"Now, come on, shifter." Rhees looked down at Marco. "Don't make me call the guards over something so petty!" Oci glared at Rhees and walked slowly into the living room, not getting anywhere close to the strange man.
Marco growled softly, before finally shifting back, not liking this guy at all. "What do you want Rhees?" he growled, recognizing the man from the taverns around town.
"Well…" Rhees looked between the two of them. "As you probably already know, you two are wanted by everyone. I can help with that… If you help me first, if course."
"Let me guess: if we don't help you, you'll call all the guards over here. What makes you think we can't take care of them?" Oci crossed his arms over his chest and glanced over at Marco for a few seconds.
Marco huffed softly, "What do we have to do?" he asked, "And don't you dare go calling the elites on us after we help you." he gave a distrustful glare towards the man, "I've seen your work before so don't try anything."
"Well, there's this guy, Adrian. He has something of mine. I'd like it back." Rhees smirked at Marco. "Aww, distrust me that much?"
"What is the thing?" Oci asked, glaring at Rhees.
"A knife. Little keepsake of mine. It brings back good memories." Rhees answered. "Now, what do you say?"
"You'll let us alone after we get you the knife?" asked Marco, "I'll need your oath on that one."
"Yes, of course." Rhees smiled. "I give you my word that I will leave you alone– if you get me the knife without too much trouble."
"Huh. Do you mind if we talk this out? Alone?" Oci asked sharply.
"Oh, yes. I hope you pick the right answer." Rhees waved his hand at Oci, who started out of the room towards his bedroom, where he hoped they could talk in silence.
Marco followed him quickly, glaring at Rhees before they got out of sight. "I don't know if you've heard of him but that guy is a double crossing snake." he hissed.
"I didn't think that I'd ever seen him, but I have heard his name. I agree with your assessment of him." Oci sighed. "Do you think we have any chance of getting out of here before he calls all the guards?"
