Davin was snuggled close to Tohru, his face resting in the crook of Tohru's neck just a little bit.
Tohru shuddered at the sensation of warm breath against his neck.
Gods, he was so touch-starved he didn't care if it was an accident. It was just nice to be held.
Davin would never have done this on purpose, not without Tohru's permission and them both wanting it, but still. He shifted faintly as he began to awaken.
Tohru, at this point, had started nodding off again, and was left in a half-asleep state when Davin fully awoke.
Davin blinked awake, and for a moment wasn't sure what to think about being snuggled up to someone. Then he realized that it was Tohru he was snuggled up to, and he froze.
Upon feeling Davin go rigid, Tohru startled awake. His eyes widened a bit. He hadn't thought about actually having to confront this in the morning.
Davin's face quickly turned pink with embarrassment. "Oh– uhm, good morning." He said slowly, looking up at Tohru uncertainly.
Tohru was a bit startled, but outwardly calm.
"Shit, I'm sorry," he whispered, pulling away, "Must've gotten cold in the night or something, huh?"
He laughed faintly, pushing himself up on his elbow since he couldn't roll onto his back. "Uh. Yeah. Must have."
"It's- it's whatever. Doesn't bother me at all if it doesn't bother you," Tohru replied, "We share a bed out of necessity. Hardly comes as a surprise this would accidentally happen at some point."
"Yeah. Sorry, though. I didn't…uhm. Just sorry." He ran a hand through his hair, shaking his head faintly and letting out an embarrassed laugh.
Tohru waved his hand dismissively.
"Seriously, it's fine."
It was nice to be held… it's been so long…
"Anyway, anything interesting happen while I was out yesterday?"
"Oh! Yeah, two of the places I'd messaged got back to me and I have interviews today." Davin replied with a smile.
Tohru's eyes lit up.
"Oh, that's great! What kinds of places are they?"
He was quite relieved. After all, he didn't want to be the only one with income if he didn't have to be. It would make things a lot easier this way.
Davin smiled lightly. "Mm, good places. One's a restaurant and the other is a grocery store."
"Well, hey," Tohru replied, "Those aren't bad at all. You're bound to get at least one of them, too."
He smiled back.
"Hopefully, yeah." He replied, looking over at Tohru. "It would be nice to have a job."
"Yeah, aside from the income, it does at least give you something to do during the day," Tohru replied, "Keeps you occupied."
He looked down a bit. Hopefully their schedules would align alright so they would be home at the same time most days.
"Yeah, that too." He smiled again, running his hands through his hair.
"So what time are your interviews today?" Tohru asked, "I was thinking we could maybe go out and get lunch before, if there's time."
"Yeah, we have time to get lunch beforehand." He replied.
"Great," Tohru replied, "There's a place near my job that looked good, if you wanted to go there. Of course, if it's not too far from your interview."
He pushed the covers back and stood up, stretching a bit. Tohru ran his fingers through the slight tangles that had formed in his hair overnight.
"Yeah, that should be fine." He replied. "Let's go there, then?"
"Great," Tohru replied, "In the meantime, I'll go make us some coffee. I'm wiped out still."
He smiled lightly. "Alright. I'll get dressed, take a quick shower."
