Davin was nearby, but looking at different ones, head just slightly cocked to one side. This area showed mostly local stones, and he couldn't help but compare them to the ones he had grown up seeing on Kaythan. Embedded in his parents ears, wound around their horns and tails.
Once he was done musing over the one gem, he drew closer to Davin.
"See anything interesting?" he asked, gazing into the cases ahead of them.
Davin jumped a little bit, taking a deep breath. "Oh. Uhm. Not really. I got lost in thought, actually." he let out a quiet lap, shooting Tohru a quick, sheepish smile.
"Oh, I see," Tohru replied, smiling back.
He had almost been looking forward to maybe hearing Davin gush about something cool he saw, but then again, these were just rocks…
Tohru moved along the exhibit, carefully reading the descriptions and taking in the composition of each item on display.
Davin took a deep breath, and started to refocus on the exhibit, studying each gem and taking in the colors, the types, cocking his head a little bit.
Tohru found his gaze wandering over to Davin.
Is he okay? He seems… out of it…
He continued looking at the exhibit, trying not to make his concern too obvious.
Davin wasn't as out of it as he had been, focused on the exhibits now, looking at the different stones.
Tohru shook his thoughts off.
Maybe he's just really focused…
He kept looking until stopping at an area that talked about rocks and soil, and what was used for local agriculture.
Davin took a deep breath, walking along through the area, looking at the different stones.
Eventually, Tohru had walked over to the end of the hall, which linked into an astronomy exhibit. He kept his focus on some of the rocks and gems, waiting for Davin to get to where he was so they could continue together.
Davin took a deep breath, and caught up to Tohru. "Hey." he greeted with a quick smile.
Tohru smiled back and gestured to the astronomy area.
"Did you want to head in there?" he asked.
The hall ahead was reminiscent of space- black, dotted with hundreds of thousands of little points of light.
Davin looked ahead, cocking his head a little bit as he considered the hall ahead of them. "Sure." he replied, looking over at Tohru.
Tohru smiled at Davin.
"Thanks for coming here with me. I'm having a good time so far," he said.
His cheeks felt a little warm. He'd never really hung out with anyone like this before.
Davin nodded a little bit. "Yeah, no problem." He replied with a quick, happy little smile. "It's been…it's been nice."
"Yeah," Tohru agreed.
He walked down the hall, making sure he was still next to Davin. Against the wall were glowing figures of different planets in this system, and as he looked down the way, Tohru could see the configuration of other systems.
Davin's eyes flashed around a little bit as he saw all the different stars, and he examined the solar systems, smiling softly.
"I'm glad you're enjoying this too," Tohru said, "I'll admit, I was a little worried."
Tohru glanced over a few of the neighboring systems, then pointed to one.
"That's where I'm from," he continued, indicating a planet covered in ice and mountains, "Originally, anyway."
Davin nodded a little bit, raising his eyes slightly when he saw the planet. "Damn. Looks like a harsh climate." He replied, smiling over at Tohru.
"Yeah, it's really bleak and depressing, if I'm being honest," Tohru said, "But I mean, I've become pretty hardened to harsh climates in return."
He smiled back.
"Can you show me some of the places you've been?"
Davin smiled a little, and nodded. He started pointing out planets listing them off. It was…there were a lot, since he had been living pretty much nomadically for years now.
Tohru listened, interested.
"I've actually visited quite a few of those before, seeking out other bounties," he said, "I wonder if we ever crossed paths but didn't know it. I mean… it's a fun thought to entertain, at least."
Davin laughed a little bit. "That would certainly have been interesting." he replied, looking over at Tohru. "But I don't know if we did."
"I feel like I'd have remembered seeing someone like you," Tohru laughed, "I dunno, you just have a very distinct appearance. You-"
He stopped himself. Davin's eyes were absolutely piercing and gorgeous. They were hard to forget.
Davin raised his eyebrows a little bit. "I…?" he asked, smiling a little bit. He was still wearing the hood over his head to cover his horns.
