Tolly watched, wanting to help but completely lost in Cas' dorm. "Is there anything I can help you with? I feel kinda stupid just waiting in your living room."
Tolly watched, wanting to help but completely lost in Cas' dorm. "Is there anything I can help you with? I feel kinda stupid just waiting in your living room."
“Would you mind getting those small bags in the cabinet?” He asked from a small room off his room. He rummaged around until he found a bottle, letting out a happy yelp when he found a small box
(Happy new year!!)
"Sure thing!" Tolly hurried over to the cabinets, rifling around a couple different cabinets until he finally hit the right ones and found the bags. He meandered over to Cas' room once he had them, wanting to make sure he'd gotten the right stuff. "These?"
(Happy new year to you!!!!)
Cas looked over at Tolly and nodded “yep! Those are going to be fore the tea sachets. We just need to add the ingredients which are these.” He showed Tolly the ornate box and pulled him to the kitchen. He pulled out some string and handed it to tolly
Tolly gave the box an interested once over, leaning forward to get a whiff of the smell and then pulling back with a grimace. He rubbed his nose as Cas led him into the kitchen, taking the string with a questioning look. "This is for the tea bag?"
“Mhm, it’s a little pungent but it help calm the person down and relax their body. And before you ask no it’s not an illegal drug. Mostly honey, lemon, rosemary, hibiscus and tarragon.” He said, opening the box and carefully laying everything out
"I would never!" Tolly seemed offended that Cas would even think he'd insinuate something like that. "I assumed it was just smelly herbs. You're a good guy, Cas, I'm not just gonna assume you're a drug peddler!"
Cas laughed softly at Tolly’s outburst “good, cus I’m not.” He set aside a small bundle of herbs for Tolly to make his out pouch and started with his own. He pulled out a leaf of mint from a plant on the windowsill and started chewing on it as he worked
Tolly gave them a suspicious look, wincing a little at the strong smell as he bundled up his herbs in the bag and tied it shut with the string. Soon he had quite a few of the little tea bags, and he felt confident enough to start up some quiet chatter as he worked. "So how long have you been working at the shop?"
Cas set aside the pouches he’d made and continued on “since freshman year.” He said with a smile as he remembered how happy he was to run his family’s shop.
"Freshman as in college or freshman as in high school?" Tolly finished out another pouch and then took a break to try and breath, wishing all the scents could be a little less in your face.
“College, so now going onto two years.” He plucked another mint leaf from the plant and passed it Tolly, noticing his discomfort “it’ll help clear up your airway. Are allergic?”
Tolly chewed on it quickly, shaking his head. "No, it's just a wolf thing. Strong smells are really bad for me, they make my head all gross and foggy." The mint had a sharpers mell and, true to Cas' word, it did help clear out some of the other scents muddying up his mind.
He laughed softly and nodded "yeah, sorry about that," He went to the pantry once more and got out the jar of white petals from the flower he had collected a few nights ago. "Last ingredient," he said, finding a mortar and pestle and grinding a few dried petals. He tied the powder in a separate pouch and gathered all the pouches. He then found a larger basket and filled it with a variety of ingredients from around the dorm "I think we're all set to go to Caits and the shop. you ready?"
Tolly watched with interest, grabbing a few more mint leaves to chew on once the flower got crushed up and its scent joined the others in the air. He helped set the pouches in the basket while Cas gathered up the other ingredients and then sling it across his arm, using his free hand to lace their fingers together. "Yep! Let's go."
Cas smiled up at him as he held some of the more fragile ingredients in his other hand. "I assume you know where Cait's dorm is right?" He asked, embarrassed for not knowing himself. He pressed close to Tolly as they walked, used to his warmth and strength. "I still can't believe this is real," he admitted quietly
"Mhmm!" Tolly nodded, pulling Cas down the sidewalks as they made their way to Cait's dorm. He blushed when he heard Cas' confession, leaning up against him a little. "It's the same for me. This all feels like some kind of crazy dream, like I'm gonna wake up and everything's gonna disappear."
Cas nodded in agreement "I hope to never wake up if it is a dream." He leaned into Tolly and pressed a kiss to his cheek. He glanced around the campus, flinching when he saw the same group of boys that had destroyed the shop walking towards them "is there another path we can take to get to Caits?" he whispered to Tolly, keeping his eyes locked with the group of boys
Tolly rubbed their cheeks together affectionately, pulling away with a soft frown when Cas flinched. He immediately scanned the surrounding area, yanking his boyfriend up against his chest protectively when he saw who was coming forward. "No, this… this is the only way. Are you okay? Do you think they're gonna do anything?"
“I-i don’t think don’t think so.” He pressed into Tolly when the group brushed past. none of the boys said anything but most smirked at Cas before glaring up at tolly and walking on. Cas stayed pressed against Tolly even after the boys had passed not wanting to leave his protective hold. “Thank you,” He breathed once they were safe
Tolly kissed his cheek softly once they passed, pulling Cas to Cait's dorm a little faster than he had been before just in case they decided to come back. He still held Cas close, never letting him get too far away. "Of course! I'd never let anyone hurt you– not if I could help it."
Cas gave Tolly a faint smile "I know you wouldn't." he pressed a kiss to tolly's cheek, all his nerves melting away as they came to Cait's door. Cas glanced up at Tolly before gently knocking "Hey Cait, it's Cas and Tolly, we heard you were sick and wanted to come by to check up on you."
Tolly kissed the top of his head and then waited patiently for Cait to give them some sort of answer. It took a while, but eventually they heard a grunting noise and the door swung open. Tolly watched with quiet fear as Cait walked out to greet them looking like a walking corpse. Her eyes were glazed over, skin washed out and clammy, and when she spoke she sounded like she's been gargling with gravel. "Thanks."
Cas found it harder to hide his fears “are you alright? What got you sick?” He asked, holding her elbow, watching her carefully in case she decided to faint. “Gods please tell me it wasn’t anything in the potion…” he whispered, thinking back to the ingredients he’d given Levi for the love potion. None of it was harmful if taken in the right doses but he didn’t know how much Cait had consumed.
Tolly gently brushed Cas off and then, after giving Cait a quiet warning, he swung her up in his arms and carried her back into the house, laughing softly when she tried to smack his cheek. "Chem partner," she grumbled. "I didn't drink the fucking potion, I let Tolly do that for me."
