Elijah took tentative steps towards him until he stood next to him. He wrung his hands in front him, unsure of what to do.

Leo handed Elijah the towel with a smile, “I’m going to wash the plates and you’re going to dry them. It’s really easy, just use the towel until the plate is dry.”
Elijah took the towel, staring at it. He nodded slightly. He could do this. He just had to make sure he didnt drop anything.
"Perfect." Leo turned back to the sink, grabbing a sponge and cleaning the first plate. When he'd done that, he handed it to Elijah.
Elijah took to the plate, carefully drying it. You're not going to drop it. You're not giing to drop it. You're not going to drop it. He repeated in his head.
Leo hummed quietly as he washed the next plate. A soft smile tugged at his lips, glad that Elijah was helping.
"Um, where do I put it?" Elijah looked up with the plate in hand.
“Just in that metal rack right there.” Leo pointed, getting soap suds over the counter.
Very carefully, Elijah put the plate on the rack.he turned back to Leo with a smile.
Leo smiled back, "Good job!" He handed him the next plate.
Elijah took the next plate from him. He tried it off carefully and put it in the rack with the other plate.
Leo cleaned the forks next, handing both to Elijah at one time.
Elijah dried the silverware and dumped them into the rack. He looked back at Leo. He hoped they were done.
And they were. Leo was just emptying out the sink and washing the bubbles out. He looked up and smiled, "Thanks so much for the help."
Elijah nodded and backed away. He wasn't sure where to go, what he could do or touch. So he just kinda stood there.
Leo dried his hands with a small sigh, "Look, Elijah, you're gonna be here for a while so this place is your home now, you can do whatever as long as you don't break anything."
Elijah sat down on the couch. He crossed his legs under him and looked around. It was so quiet compared to home. There was always someone around every corner ready to wait on your every need. It was much bigger, too, than this place.
Leo sat down on the floor on the other side of the coffee table, spinning the TV remote around on the surface. He didn't know what to say. What do you say to someone who just turned from stone to human?
Elijah looked over at him. "Why do you always sit on the ground? Do you not like the couch? Or do you have a master that has forebade to sit on it?" He asked with genuine curiosity.
Leo tilted his head to the side, "Master? No, I don't have one," He shrugged, "People don't have master's nowadays, unless you're into some kinky stuff."
Elijah just tilted his head like a confused puppy. What was this "link stuff" he mentioned. "Then why are you on the floor?"
"Because I'm more comfortable down here, where I can look up at people." He replied with a shrug.
Elijah looked at the spaces next to him. "You should come sit up here. It does not look very comfortable on the floor." He said, patting the spit next to him.
Leo rested his head in his head, looking up at Elijah, "But I'm comfortable where I am, though."
Elijah held out his hand to him. "Then at least sit near me. You are so far away."
