“Exhausting,” She said with a sigh. “Mother is so overprotective, it drives me crazy.”
“Exhausting,” She said with a sigh. “Mother is so overprotective, it drives me crazy.”
Corbin laughed "so normal." He said "how is she?" He asked, wanting to catch up on the years he'd missed
“Besides overprotective?” Sarah laughed. “She’s getting old, if that’s even possible for her. Or, at least, more tired.”
"of course she is, she has to deal with you. Who wouldn't get tired?" He teased, coming from the shadows and walking along the path
She hit him lightly on the arm. “Hush, you jerk,” she laughed.
He laughed softly "you only tease cuz you know I'm right." He sang, dodging another punch
Sarah gave a mock groan. “You’re so mean,” she pouted, grinning even as she said it.
"some things never change, do they?" He offered an apologetic grin and waited for her to catch up
She ran up next to him, a smile on her face. “Guess not.”
"I hope life's been treating you well?" He asked with a side glance
She shrugged. “No better than any other time. You?”
He shrugged, red glinting off his eyes as sunlight hit them "no better than when I was up there. Though considerably more peaceful."
She laughed slightly. “That’s good. You need the peace, out of anyone I’ve met.”
He rolled his eyes and smirked "yeah, I haven't torn someone to shred out of pure rage in a while now. I kinda miss it."
Sarah stepped jokingly away from him. “Please don’t hurt me.”
Corbin knew Sarah was joking, it's what they did with each other all the time, but some how her actions and words sent a needle through his heart. "I would never." He said sincerely
She blinked at his change of voice and gave a slight, sad sigh. “I know you wouldn’t,” she said softly.
He sighed "I've missed you Sarah." He admitted quietly "it truely has been too long."
“I’ve missed you too,” she said, so quietly that no mortal could hear it. It was strange, admitting it.
He smiled softly and tilted his head in the direction of the park "coming with?"
“Why not.” Sarah pulled her hair out of her face yet again-it never eeeked to want to stay-and followed him.
He waited up for her and laced his hands behind his head
She stepped shyly to his side and smiled up at him. “Come on.”
He nodded and followed her "where are we going?"
She shrugged, smiling back at him. “I was just thinking about walking around. I didn’t really have a place in mind.”
