Leo Valdez.
But that's one series I need them EVERYWHERE
Dmitry
Harry 'No Need To Call Me Sir, Professor' Potter
Sage/Prince Jaron
points to the stacks of books with straight guys with no personality or are overshone by their gay counterpart
Carswell Thorne (but tbh there's like no way he's straight)
Prince Kai
Is that a hole that needs to be filled? Clearly you have not met Keefe Sencen.
wait…he isn't gay?
My favorite new trope is being surprised when characters AREN'T gay.

LOL. No of course not. He's been wanting to b with Sophie since book one.
100% There needs to be more Book Harrys.
movie Harrys are a SHAM
Not as bad as Movie Ginnys though…..
Book! Ginny is my sister's favorite character and while my sister generally loves the movies, she hates how they portray Ginny.
I hate both Ginnys tbh
I love Book!Ginny, mainly because she fits into the type of character I like, and kinda shows that yeah, sometimes people change and you don't notice it. I have a friend whose little sister I used to be really annoyed by and hate spending time with, and now she's a pretty close friend of mine because as she matured, I got to know her better and realized we actually had more common interests than me and her older sister did.
I always thought she was kinda 'Mary Sue'. She has a tragic ordeal. Semi bad back story because her family was so big that she kinda got ignored. She's 'powerful'. She's super smart, athletic and pretty. Everyone wanted to date her. Blah blah blah.
Ginny is getting pounded.
I never got the Mary Sue critique, she just always seemed to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, seeking comfort in the wrong places after being ignored.
Wait a second.
Holy shit that's Samuel's backstory.
I'm having a crisis, hold on.
Oh that hurts.
Well just the backstory part. He's not powerful or athletic, but he is very smart, and I guess he's attractive in a way. And no one but Joan wants to date him and they don't really even officially get together because they both need to work out their own issues first.
That is great!
He's an awkward anxious disaster and I love him so much
But I have a point when it comes to Ginny. She's VERY Mary Sue. Especially compared to Luna or Hermione. Even Lily Potter has more character.
I feel like now is a good time to mention that when I reviewed a book that I kinda hated (The Elite by Kiera Cass) I said that one of the mc's love interests had less personality than a cardboard cutout of Movie!Ginny and that's probably the best analogy I've ever written.
Ginny's not my favorite (Tonks is) but I didn't see the Mary Sue stuff. Also I'm probably just getting Ginny mixed up with my LEGO Ginny, who is a give-no-fucks Mandalorian badass.
I'd like to point out that I'm not griping on Ginny because I despise that Harry ended up with her and their pseudo-incestuous babies–ahem–I'm griping about her because she sucks butt
I'm reading The Selection series right now.
I have made a huge mistake.
