Also, there was David giving Bathsheba The Big Pregnant, an entire city collapsing, mass murder of Egyptian firstborns, the guy who had to kill his daughter because he said 'if I win this battle, I'll sacrifice whatever I see first when I come home', the earth being flooded, three dudes being tossed in a furnace, the old king getting his eyes ripped out, multiple child deaths, Cain and Abel, etc.

And that's not even getting into the Saints. Talk about badassery. Joan of Arc was burned alive, Peter was crucified upside down, Bartholomew was skinned alive, Cecelia got her neck cut 3 times with an ax and bled out over 3 days, Maria Goretti was stabbed 12 or 14 times (I can't remember the exact number) and all but 3 stabs went straight through her, the three that didn't hit her spine so hard they bent the knife. And that was all after her neighbor attempted to sexually assault her, and she was 12.

14 for Goretti. And who had the eyeballs ripped out? Also the old man in Maccabees who instead of obeyin the Greeks ripped out his guts and threw them at the soldiers while telling them off. And of course the seven brothers.

@Yamatsu

Wasn't there an old man who asked God to sic bears on small children because they made fun of him?

Not all teenagers have sex. And they aren't all ostracized. So I want characters that are still well liked and don't have sex with everyone

Yeah, I mean, most of my friends are virgins and we’re all adults. It’s not abnormal at all and should be treated that way.
But on the flip side, I want less slut-shaming. When a guy sleeps around, he tends to be viewed in a much more positive light than a woman in the same situation.
Oh, and if there is any subplot about a woman losing her virginity to a man, I’m absolutely sick of “very experienced man, and nearly clueless woman.” It’s not cute or sexy, and it’s not a good trope.

@Pickles group

I am a little inexperienced so I have a question. Is sleeping around with a lot of people still looked down on or do people not care anymore?

I think it depends on the setting and the kind of people, cause ive seen both

@Becfromthedead group

Depends on who you ask. I’m from the Deep South, and I’m pretty sure older generations look down upon it. And women are definitely looked down upon more than men. If she sleeps around, she’s “easy” or a “slut.” But for the most part, teens do not care or shame people nearly as much as adults do.

Everyone keeps talking about that book/movie and I literally hadn't heard about it until last week.

@HighPockets group

I heard about it a few months ago….from what I've heard, the movie toned down the bad aspects from the book, but the lead guy can't act.
The book is just….bad….like 50SOEA but for teens.

@Starfast group

I just read the synopsis on Goodreads and this sounds so generic and awful. And you mean to tell me that they not only publish this, but there's a movie as well?! God, this gives me so much hope for my own writing.
