Hey everyone I know I've never commented here before and it's been v quiet but when I joined notebook.ai a few weeks ago this was right at the top of the general chat so I've been following it (I'm in the closet irl, but I'm bi ace, hi, nice to meet you) but uh Dodie just released the song "rainbow" for pride month and it's like… everything I needed to hear right now after a really rough day and a few rough days of kinda not being v nice to myself about being on the LGBT spectrum (yes I know that's not good I know), but like… if someone else needs a little spot of sunshine…

@Swiggotyy_Swootyy

What's poppin?
My name is Sandy. I'm a gender-neutral, pan human.
My pronouns differ on a day to day basis.
I love All Time Low, 5SOS, P!ATD, FOB, most books, and YouTube.
I'm so happy I found this. My parents aren't exactly the most supportive and it's really hard to live with. Especially since they say that I will probably go to hell for this. THANKS, MOM AND DAD LOVE YA LOTS!

Zoe

Hey, dude, I'm sorry about your parents…
I'm Zoe, cis, bi. Fun fact I've called off all relationships for like forever. P!ATD, Dan and Phil, and lots of books too. My sister isn't really supportive. (shes 11 keep that in mind) and shes come out as every sexuality, made up microwavitity (the love of hot pockets?) and tried to take off my shirt (I had a swimsuit underneath that she wanted to show my mom for some reason) and when they told her to stop said that "at least I'm not the gay one." I wish I could help with your situation. I am an atheist so I don't really know what to say.

@Crisis

Man, family sometimes. I'm not out to my parents, but I'm out to my friends, some of my cousins and my siblings. I know my parents wouldn't approve, though. We were at my grandparents house once, and they started talking about my step grandma's daughter who was gay, and about how it's such a trial to have gay children. I left immediately of course, and I went outside. When I came back in to ask my dad to unlock the car, he was saying 'if one of my children was like that…' He unlocked the car and I went back outside, and never got to hear him finish. And they think 'boy-girls' (trans, genderfluid and genderqueers) are gross. So I'm not really up for the win either, but I can't really try to talk any sense into them without revealing myself.

@Joneathan

I'm only out to my friends. I know that my mom would probably be accepting, but then she would just tell my dad and I know he wouldn't like it at all. I'm afraid they'll disown me if I do come out, and I live in Mississippi so there really isn't many places I could go if I am disowned and need a place to live where people accept me. So I'm distancing myself from them so it'll be easier when I come out. But by doing that I'm also distancing myself from everyone else. You see I used to talk to my mom about everything, and now that I'm not, I don't have anyone to turn to. I don't want to talk to my friends about all this because they have it worse and they already have problems on their own. Keeping all of this bottled up has really put a toll on me. I don't care about things anymore and it's affecting my school work and productivity. I know what's going on and I do want to fix it, but it just seems like I can't and that there's nothing I can do about it. But don't worry about it, it's nothing I'll get it under control. Sorry for wasting your time.

Hi, I am Pansexual and Panromantic, basically I'm attracted to anyone regardless of gender both sexually and romantically. I was born as female and identify as female but I want to have a few trans characters in this one novel I'm working on because I want a very diverse cast but I don't fully understand transgender and exactly how it works. I also want an agender character but as previously stated, I don't fully understand. Sorry if I'm wasting all y'all's time, I just need someone who knows what it's like to be trans or agender to explain as they would know the most about this subject.

@Crisis

The thing that you have to remember with lgbtqa+ characters is that before they are lgbtqa+ is that they are them. They have interests, opinions, and favourite songs. Many trans people get self conscious during their transitions. It takes a while to get used to their new skins, but they feel worse in the wrong skin. That's all I got, sorry

Yeah, I don't make my characters have their gender or sexuality be their identity. There are too many people in this world who do do that, and we all need to treat people like the humans they are.

@Purple-Cat flagThe Worldbuilder

Hello everyone I am curious to know what some of you think of Steven universe as the show does have LGBT+ characters and I I would suggest it to anyone who is interested. ( many apologies if this question offends anyone. I am not in the LGBTQA+ community I am just generally curious and no one has to answer if they don’t want to)

no spoilers for anyone who hasn't watched it yet

The LGBTQ+ chat is distinctly lacking in the "chat" department.
