I feel like being part of a fandom and a sailor at the same time would be difficult.

Because if someone were to ask you what your favorite ships were you'd either end up with

Dude that's what it feels like to be in the One Piece fandom
Like, 70% of the characters are either pirates or marines so unless you know the name of like, every boat, you get conversations like that

I was actually in a really similar situation a two years ago, at least the abusive jerk had the decency not to openly pursue my best friend until after we stopped talking.
Lovey I know he made lots of promises, and I know how much that hurts, We used to talk about where we would live and how we would make it so our jobs would compliment one another. He made so many promises, and I'm sure your boyfriend did too.
It will get better, If we hadn't had ended things and my best friend hadn't started dating him I would never have become close to my favorite person in the whole world.
Think of your life as a business, there are a set number of jobs, when a seemingly good worker leaves it leaves an opening to another individual to take that position. And I can promise you, who ever fills that role will do their job 10x more efficiently then the last person did. because that other person was hurting you, wasn't faithful to you, that's not doing their job.
And it's ok if that role in your life isn't filled for a while, sometimes you have to step in and do that job, and that's ok. I don't have a So at the moment, and I don't really need one. Instead I ended up with two amazing friends who support me and care about me.
It takes time and it takes healing, but you will be ok again.

Lucky, but I still have 4 1/2 years to grow, my doc said I might be 7' by time I'm done, my uncle harry is 7' 9" so I'm hoping that ish gonna be me too.
