perm(im kidding i dont think i can legally suggest that)
slight waves with masculine clothing
those really loose chunky braids
tiny ponytail

really i think a lot of it is choosing the right hairstyle to match with your outfit in a way that looks masc. some looks are feminine with certain clothing and more androgynous or masculine with others

@Becfromthedead group

Yeah no kidding lmao
I stg every time I try to do a bun, even if like that low bun that some men do, I still end up looking very feminine.
And lucky for me, I have a naturally wavy texture, so I'm sure I can work that out.
(Aggressively ignoring that impulse to just chop it all off)

@Becfromthedead group

Yeah, I find low ponies so far to be about as close as I can get, honestly.
I mean, one of my older brothers has had long hair that he usually keeps in a low pony for as long as I can remember. I just swear everything looks different on my baby face. Maybe it'll help when my new glasses come in. I got a more gender neutral looking pair

this almost doesn't belong here, but fashion is confidence and if you don't like yourself confidence is hard so here

friendly weight loss tips from croc that aren't 'destroy your body':

eat healthier! diet(not dieting) is a huge part in weight loss. ways to fix up your diet are:
1) just eating less junk food

2) when you do, drink lots of water. water bloat is better than salt bloat and goes away quicker

3) eat healthier versions of things! look for the snack with a few grams less of fat and sugar, look for organic versions that don't cost an insane amount. and instead of buying the fast food version, take the time to make your own with good ingredients! also fun fact: squat kicks while cooking are great and easy to do

4) drink ur fuckin water. lots of it

5) slow down on the carbonation. i know the bubbles are fun but they aren't very good for you. if you must, try the natural sugar versions of soda. if you have a fredmeyer's near you, their kroger brand has organic natural soda that's super good, and you can taste the different between it and soda full of corn syrup and yucky stuff. don't get me wrong, a soda here and there is yummy, but making sure the soda you're drinking is healthier is a very good idea

do casual exercise! here's some tips:
1) build up gradually. it's very much proven that trying to go from minimal or no exercise to a full workout suddenly is bad for you. what i did was started on the elliptical, and i could only do twenty minutes before dying. now, my average is forty minutes. about every week i was able to up it five or so minutes, and then one day after doing 30, i decided to try forty the next day. it worked. build yourself up at your own pace, and don't feel bad about not being able to run a marathon your first time running.

2) work things into your routine! sometimes i randomly go for weeks doing ten/fifteen/twenty squats every time i went to the bathroom. wash your hands and then do squats. you'll notice a difference, and it's really easy! do crunches every time you finish a homework assignment, have a five minute dance break after each zoom.

anyway i know that weight is often a sore subject for a lot of us, and can be a very big part of your self worth. and while people preach 'being happy with your body', sometimes you have to make a couple changes to do so! and being healthy feels good, and doesn't mean stick thin.

@Cloudy_is_trying_her_best

Also uh tip from me that I learned from my mom, who learned it from my aunt(who is a licensed doctor)

DIET POP IS, MORE THAN LIKELY, BAD FOR YOU

The substitute for sugar like 90% of the time is aspartame, which, fun fact! That's actual, literal rat poison. It's widely considered to be safe(probably because it's cheap and makes a quick buck), but it's been linked to different types of cancers. Shit's deadly, so just don't drink it. Water's great instead, and hey, if you're craving something sweet? Strawberries, apples, pretty much any fruit out there will do it for you. The sugar in it is natural, not processed shit like in most everything else out there.

TL;DR, don't drink diet pop and if you've got a huge sweet tooth(like me), eat a fuckin strawberry. Or seven. Go nuts(but not too nuts!! Too much of anything can be bad for you!!)

Any tips on getting a good vintage look?
also should i buy a victorian ballgown

thrifting!! obviously lmao, and the answer to the victorian ballgown question is yes.

beyond that, a lot of vintage looks are heavy on classic styles that were popularized in other eras, as well as the fashion(general) and hair that went with. if you have any eras in mind, i'd love to help find a few hair styles for certain looks! makeup is also a tough one, because it really depends on the era and fashion you choose

Oh my goodness, croc and Jupiter, I found your forums at just the right time! Maybe now I can stop panicking. XD
Soooo…my main idea is to impress, but I don't want to look like I'm trying to?? If that's even a thing??
I was wondering could I PM both of y'all (Croc and Jupiter) to get ideas on what to wear, how my hair should go, makeup tips, etc…

Deleted user

my PMs are always open for makeup/fashion/general advice! i don't know if i can speak for jupiter, but i doubt she'd mind!

Alrighty, thanks a million!

@croccin-champagne

bandeau tops and blazers, blazers with various shirts, sweaters that are cropped or tucked up/just tucked in the waistband, making them look kinda oversized. sweater vests, button up shirts, a solid colored oversized tank thats tied up in the front, long sleeved shirt under a spaghetti strap tank top.

either hide your socks or do socks in solid colors that match around, and anything from oxfords to converse to strappy sandals works. personally, i'd say simply jewelry like small pendants on thin chains, maybe chokers, and just nice lil earrings.

Sure! I may need some time to think but I'll get back to you as soon as I can. :)

@croccin-champagne

its never dead babe! i like to think of this as one of those threads that just pops back up when you need it

if we're talking cuts, anywhere from shoulder to chin length looks BOMB on y'all. angled and wavy, you get both ends. longer hair with waves is hella flattering, and multiple layers with side bangs works hella too. sources say layers in general are your friend, probably to give your hair volume and dimension, to avoid any possibility of it looking flat in comparison to what i like to call 'hot warrior lady face'. side sweep your bangs, go for shaggy, or even do a really deep side part.

@croccin-champagne

i think it may depend partly on how you're styling it, but in general, yeah! this lady has a similar cut, if a bit longer, and a square face! i definitely think the cut will work, though if you're going to a stylist, ask them if they have any tricks for the cut on top of that

@Max_Miracle_DroppedMostOfTheirRPs
