WHAT'S UP JUPITER IS BACK TO (PROBABLY) ANNOY EVERYONE
I have curly and very puffy hair that currently comes to about the middle of my back. I've been debating for months whether to cut it to my shoulders or let it grow super long. I think that short hair looks super cute, but I have to be able to do a bun for dance and I'm worried that it'd make my hair even puffier. On the other hand, I used to have hair past my butt and it was a huge hassle, but it looks super nice and it'd probably get straighter if I grew it out definitely not growing it out so that I can cosplay Wendy from Gravity Falls in the undetermined future, nope. Any advice?
(also I get new glasses frames next week! I'm so excited bc I lowkey hate the ones I have)

@croccin-champagne

aaaaa okay i have plusses and minuses here

so you can cut your hair short enough so that it'll stil fit in a bun and look nice. even if its a small bun! and poof is something you can deal with, don't you worry. there are plenty of casual serums and products that offer a taming effect without making your hair crusty, and should you decide you want some options before doing so, let me know! my mom is a former hairdresser who worked at sally's beauty for a few years, so she knows a lot. and i am very good at using google.

but long hair is very pretty! as someone who's had short hair for most of their life, it's great but i've almost gotten tired of it. i want more options, and the only way to get them is to grow my hair out long enough to cut it a million different ways. but, ever the advocate for cutting your hair and experimenting–experiment! cut it short and regret it for two years while it grows out! get an undercut, buzz it off(i know, strict parents. but someday), get the worst haircut you'll ever have or get one you'll love for as long as you have it. have fun, because even if it takes a bit, hair grows back. it doesn't always look the best while it's growing back but hey. we can't have everything.

@south-is-a-tad-bit-outraged

as someone who hasn’t had a real haircut in years and literally just takes kitchen scissors and hacks when ever i get tired of it this is 1000% true get the crappiest haircut you’ve ever seen. hair grows and life is short

Hm… I've been very curious about high-waisted pants. I don't own any and never have, but damn, they look good on a lot of people.
I also want to try men's pants without looking like a dummy.
I have pretty short legs, as in I can wear petites and I have to buy the "short" cut in old navy jeans :(

@croccin-champagne

the trick? cut off the parts of the leg that are too long and bring them in. thats for men's. high-waisted pants are a godsend if you have any sort of ass. always afraid of being the person who's ass is halfway out their pants? not anymore!

@Cloudy_is_trying_her_best

YES I'm a skater so I've got more of an ass than I'd really like and high-waisted pants are a whole blessing and a half. I need pants anyway so I'm gonna ask my mom if when we go shop for them I can get high-waisted ones. I have one pair right now and I always hated the regular ones but we don't go pants shopping very often so opportunity!! holy run-on sentence lmao

@Becfromthedead group

Ahsjdks I'm basically all ass and no leg length so that sounds like a blessing lmao
And sickkk, I might just have to try taking up some men's pants sometime. Although if I'm being honest, I spent most of my middle school years in jeans that swallowed me whole and I'm trying to NOT revert back to that ever again. So I'll definitely have to try on things before I buy pants that don't look so great on me :/

@moss

@acis you can wear a crewneck or a flannel over it

@Disaster_Bi_Was_Here put on makeup, wear accesories like earings, necklaces, etc.

@Moxie group

Idk if you’ll be able to help me with this Sage but like idk where to buy high waisted slacks. I want them for that whole dark academia vibe, but I haven’t been able to find any for the life of me, only low waisted ones. Like I said, idk if you’ll be able to help, but I thought I’d ask

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

I know I’m not crocs, but I literally just got some higher waisted pants yesterday. They were on sale at Old Navy, and they look pretty nice. I don’t know if they’d be exactly what you’re looking for, but it’s always worth a look.

@croccin-champagne

i mean i have a couple saved on amazon, and if you're thinner it'll be a lot easier. but i'd just search them online, compile a list of places that sell them, and then pick through for your sizes/best ratings/best prices. i can help with that too, if you need, just by finding where they sell

Or lack of ass lol
I have absolutely no hips and high waisted pants are the only reason I don't spend a fortune on belts, they're the only shape that clings to me.

@Becfromthedead group

Akshdhs no kidding. Like slightly low waisted stuff can be okay, where it sits basically on the hip bone, but dear God, some of the 90s (was it 90s?) fashion with low waisted pants was atrocious.

@croccin-champagne

perm(im kidding i dont think i can legally suggest that)
slight waves with masculine clothing
those really loose chunky braids
tiny ponytail

really i think a lot of it is choosing the right hairstyle to match with your outfit in a way that looks masc. some looks are feminine with certain clothing and more androgynous or masculine with others

@Becfromthedead group

Yeah no kidding lmao
I stg every time I try to do a bun, even if like that low bun that some men do, I still end up looking very feminine.
And lucky for me, I have a naturally wavy texture, so I'm sure I can work that out.
(Aggressively ignoring that impulse to just chop it all off)

@Becfromthedead group

Yeah, I find low ponies so far to be about as close as I can get, honestly.
I mean, one of my older brothers has had long hair that he usually keeps in a low pony for as long as I can remember. I just swear everything looks different on my baby face. Maybe it'll help when my new glasses come in. I got a more gender neutral looking pair

this almost doesn't belong here, but fashion is confidence and if you don't like yourself confidence is hard so here

friendly weight loss tips from croc that aren't 'destroy your body':

eat healthier! diet(not dieting) is a huge part in weight loss. ways to fix up your diet are:
1) just eating less junk food

2) when you do, drink lots of water. water bloat is better than salt bloat and goes away quicker

3) eat healthier versions of things! look for the snack with a few grams less of fat and sugar, look for organic versions that don't cost an insane amount. and instead of buying the fast food version, take the time to make your own with good ingredients! also fun fact: squat kicks while cooking are great and easy to do

4) drink ur fuckin water. lots of it

5) slow down on the carbonation. i know the bubbles are fun but they aren't very good for you. if you must, try the natural sugar versions of soda. if you have a fredmeyer's near you, their kroger brand has organic natural soda that's super good, and you can taste the different between it and soda full of corn syrup and yucky stuff. don't get me wrong, a soda here and there is yummy, but making sure the soda you're drinking is healthier is a very good idea

do casual exercise! here's some tips:
1) build up gradually. it's very much proven that trying to go from minimal or no exercise to a full workout suddenly is bad for you. what i did was started on the elliptical, and i could only do twenty minutes before dying. now, my average is forty minutes. about every week i was able to up it five or so minutes, and then one day after doing 30, i decided to try forty the next day. it worked. build yourself up at your own pace, and don't feel bad about not being able to run a marathon your first time running.

2) work things into your routine! sometimes i randomly go for weeks doing ten/fifteen/twenty squats every time i went to the bathroom. wash your hands and then do squats. you'll notice a difference, and it's really easy! do crunches every time you finish a homework assignment, have a five minute dance break after each zoom.

anyway i know that weight is often a sore subject for a lot of us, and can be a very big part of your self worth. and while people preach 'being happy with your body', sometimes you have to make a couple changes to do so! and being healthy feels good, and doesn't mean stick thin.

@Cloudy_is_trying_her_best

Also uh tip from me that I learned from my mom, who learned it from my aunt(who is a licensed doctor)

DIET POP IS, MORE THAN LIKELY, BAD FOR YOU

The substitute for sugar like 90% of the time is aspartame, which, fun fact! That's actual, literal rat poison. It's widely considered to be safe(probably because it's cheap and makes a quick buck), but it's been linked to different types of cancers. Shit's deadly, so just don't drink it. Water's great instead, and hey, if you're craving something sweet? Strawberries, apples, pretty much any fruit out there will do it for you. The sugar in it is natural, not processed shit like in most everything else out there.

TL;DR, don't drink diet pop and if you've got a huge sweet tooth(like me), eat a fuckin strawberry. Or seven. Go nuts(but not too nuts!! Too much of anything can be bad for you!!)

@croccin-champagne

Any tips on getting a good vintage look?
also should i buy a victorian ballgown

thrifting!! obviously lmao, and the answer to the victorian ballgown question is yes.

beyond that, a lot of vintage looks are heavy on classic styles that were popularized in other eras, as well as the fashion(general) and hair that went with. if you have any eras in mind, i'd love to help find a few hair styles for certain looks! makeup is also a tough one, because it really depends on the era and fashion you choose
