Heyo casually reviving this because I have a question if that’s alright by you guys
(Sorry for any offense taken in advance)
Why do you believe in G*d?
(starring it because idk if some of you prefer it that way, might not even be a thing you do but idk)

For another, there's Jesus. As surmised by C.S. Lewis, he was either a liar, crazy, or telling the truth.

I'll run through the options.

Lunatic: Why did his followers keep up the following? Especially after he was tortured to death?

Liar: Tortured to death could have been avoided by telling the truth.

Lord: The option that is left.

and no one thinks he was crazy

I actually do tbh

Why?

Because I'm atheist

Lunatic: Religion was important to them. And if he was crazy, he probably had enough confidence in thinking he was Jesus to convince others too.

Liar: That would have ruined his prophecy. He probably knew that if he told the truth he would lose the following that would continue on to today.

Lord: Nah.

That is a horrible rebuttal.

It's really not, it's my religion??

No need to say, mate. We know you mean no maleficence.

Except the reason he convinced most people was by miracles. And he was going against the popular religious teachings. And the whole torture thing.

Liar: That would have ruined his prophecy. He probably knew that if he told the truth he would lose the following that would continue on to today.

Nobody cares about that when torture is involved. And unless he knew the future he wouldn't have known the following would last.

@ravens

idk i guess mostly because my parents are christian? and so i've grown up going to church and believing in god

although i don't really want christianity to be The Most Important Part of my life, yknow? like. yeah i believe in god but i just. don't really think that's my calling. like he's got plans for all of us and i think being a gospel leader isn't mine?

and especially with things going on today. i don't believe that god hates gays, i don't believe that god hates people of other religions. god doesn't hate anyone, which is kind of his whole thing yknow. i do believe that. also i don't really think that missionaries and Converters™ should be a thing? idk i'd rather just let people believe in whatever religion they want.

my favorite part of going to church is the music. and yeah the sermons/talks are good, but if anyone ever says anything homophobic or something similar i will not hesitate to walk out of there.
