My first and only anime (aside from pokemon) was Fruits basket when I was like 11 and my friends bullied me into watching it

I think my first Anime was Yu-Gi-Oh… Idk when.. but it was also the dub version… which I now know is really hecking messed up compared to the original…
But it counts.
Any dub version is messed up compared to the original.
Well, some of us don't like having to constantly pause and rewind to read subtitles just to know what's going on.
Well, some of us-
That's kinda a valid argument
Gimme a sec
Some of us are fast readers
That's all I got
saiki k is the only anime I've watched dub but I've only seen 3 animes so

Yeah… except this one was messed up so bad that the entire storyline was changed, along with some base elements of the lore behind it all.

Wouldn't the sub be messed up too?

Just read faster then.
If you ask me, a simple solution would be to just read the manga since you can do that at your own pace. That, and you can read ahead! :)

Plus, if you read the manga, there's no filler!

I don't think so. Sub is really just translating it. You're not always going to get the direct translation because the wording would make no sense in English, but the story should be relatively kept the same.
However, in dubbed versions of some anime, it has been shown that whole dialogues have been changed. Not just to translate them, the wordings have just been shown to be completely different from subbed versions.
But whatever, that doesn't really matter. Watch what you people want, can't say I won't judge you for it, but I won't stop ya.

But why?
No clue. It's just weird. I remember testing this out by watching both to compare, and I noticed it.
i don’t remember which animes but some dubs specifically changed dialogue to censor gay couples so sheltered children with homophobic parents could also watch along

Okay…. I don't really have anything to get this thread back to it's original topic…..
Has Emma said or done anything adorable lately?
She's been singing old macdonald a lot recently but instead of animals, it's our family members making animal noises
…mine was oink oink

When my sister was two she had a designated 'pooping spot' on the living room floor so your sister is doing better then mine

For the one particular anime I watched, the dub was changed the way it was to eliminate characters dying in the show so as to make it appropriate for American kids.
Basically all signs of guns,
Blood,
And people dying were eliminated from the show, and the storyline was changed accordingly with new backstory lore and world rules and everything.
Personally I dont care because the changes made it a really good adventure action type genre that I really liked at the time, but finding out it was a dub and about how much had been changed kinda messed me up.
Emma: “I’m sad. I want Anna to come back.”
Mom: “Do you miss her?”
Emma: “Yeah, I need her to drive back from Tennessee and kick. Matthew’s. butt”
She's so frickin precious, I swear–
she also was helping press flowers with me today
except she keeps forgetting the word press
so she’s been telling mom all about how we’re going to smash the flowers flat
