Farron rushes through the tunnels and came to where Herla was standing with his sword to Azura. He unshealthed his own and held it to his back.
“Drop your sword, brother.” He said, his voice ice cold.
Farron rushes through the tunnels and came to where Herla was standing with his sword to Azura. He unshealthed his own and held it to his back.
“Drop your sword, brother.” He said, his voice ice cold.
Herla turned around very slowly.
“This is no game, Farron. Why do you want to put our kingdom in danger? You are not logical, which is why you are not fit to be king. I shall not drop my sword. I shall protect Pryvlyn. And you should do the same instead of running around with this little girl.”
Azura felt a pang of guilt. She was holding him back. Still, she didn’t move from her stance.
“You forget what mother taught us. About providing protection to those in need? Or are you to thick and power hungry now that your king that you forget about her and what she did to save us. She died for us, Herla. And you forget.” Farron spat, not lowering his own sword.
"Do you not see guards trickling through here each day? The know about us now, and if we don't do something soon, they'll tell everyone. So, why not just give them what they want?" he looked back at Azura. "You don't mean to tell me that you care more about her than all your kingdom, I hope." When he turned back towards Farron, Azura began backing away slowly. She was headed towards the castle, trying to give herself to the guards that so badly wanted her return.
Farron shook his head a little, “You’re attacking like a fool and you’re not yourself. Get a grip on reality. Azure is a friend and she is not going anywhere.” He looked over her with a look that said, don’t you even think about it.
“She is your friend,” he said dryly. He then turned back to Azura and swung at her with his sword. However, he had underestimated how far away she was (since she had backed up a bit) and had just missed her face by a few inches. He was so angry and frustrated that he just began swinging with his sword. Azura blocked each and every swing, until she knocked his sword out of his hand.
Farron kicked Herla in the back, knocking him to the ground and placing his sword at his back, “You’ve changed, Herla. And not entirely for the better.” He had the urge to run his sword though his back for what he said about Azura but didn’t.
Azura sensed that Farron might do something stupid, so she held her hand out in front of him.
“Let’s go, before they come too!” She said. She grabbed his hand and they sped off towards the exit. Once they got there, they didn’t stop. They just ran through town, Headed towards the gates, when they saw the children from the orphanage playing hopscotch by the biulding.
Farron let go of Azura’s hand for a moment and quickly stopped outside the gates of the orphanage, “Kalli, Kane!” HE called out and the twins came rushing towards them.
“If Herla asks where we went, say we ran the other way, okay?” The two nodded and Farron ran off with Azura again.
Azura and Farron kept running. they ran past guards who weren't on duty at the gates, ran down the path leading away from the city, and ran into the woods. After a good bit of running, they collapsed on the lush forest floor, panting.
"I'm sorry you had to leave, Farron," Azura turned to face him after a while. "I know how much you loved Pryvlyn."
"It's not your fault, Azura. You don't have to be sorry." Farron sighed and rubbed at his face with both hands before surveying the surrounding area, "We need to keep moving, we'll have more men on us now so it's gonna make everything a lot harder."
"where exactly are we gonna go?" she asked. She got up, but at this point, she didn't even know what direction they should go on.
"Do you have a map?"
(FREAKING CONTINUE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Farron shook his head, “No, I don’t. But, if we keep heading north there should be a small merchants village about ten miles from here. There’s also an inn we can stay at for the night, the sun should be setting soon,”
(@Joy I’m glad u like it :))
“Ten mikes is a good bit, so we’d better get a move on,” she said. She started at a comfortable jog and Farron came up behind her. It was truly breathtaking in the forest south of Pryvlyn. Summer had just ended, and the orange and red leaves were all over the forest floor. The tall trees provided a canopy over their heads that only allowed slivers of sunlight to filter through. You could see a good bit in front of you in that forest, maybe even half a mile, because the trees were very spread out. The whole thing was a beautiful sight.
“I used to go hunting in these woods,” Farron eventually said, notcing Azura taking in the surroundings, “Me and father. We’d take in either birds or small creatures or the evening meal.” There were stage and deer in these parts, but Farron had never killed one, never thought about it as they were sacred round here.
"Really? Once i heard someone talk about practicing archery out here, and they said it was very peaceful. I've actually wanted to come out here myself, but this is the first time I've ever been this far." She added with a giggle, "Of course, it's not all that peaceful, what with our being hunted down."
Farron huffed a laugh, “That’s true. Maybe after all this is over we could come back when it is actually peaceful. If you want to, that is. Or you could just come by yourself and I don’t have to be there or-“ He cut himself off before he could say anything stupid.
Azura laughed, then reached up to ruffle his hair. "You're a mess, you know that?" After a bit of a pause, she added, "but I still like you."
She shuffled the leaves with her feet and leaned forward, arms behind her back.
Farron cracked a side smile and ran a hand through his hair, making it even messier then earlier, “I like you, too.” He said quietly, reaching down to kiss her cheek.
She smiled.
After a while of silence, she decided to take the time to ask Farron about some things, namely the portrait in the orphanage. She tried to do it with tact, but she needed answers.
"Why do you think I've seen your mother before?"
“Because she was at the Rosguard for a while…” Farron replied, “Before she… she passed away.”
Azura paused for a moment before she began talking.
"I'm sorry about your mother. I never knew her, but I did know I've seen her. Why do you think she was in Rosgard? She was a queen, so I would have noticed if it was official normal queen stuff. Everyone would have been talking about her visit."
“She was just visiting me, nothing special.” Farron replied, shrugging a shoulder, “You don’t have to be sorry, Azura. You don’t have to apologise for it.”
