(Thanks! I'm still gonna be spotty for another week or so but I should be on more often after that)
"Azura you need to let my arm go! You run and I'll stay back and hold them off." Farron said, looking over his shoulder to see the two men from earlier trailing close behind.
She turned to face him while still moving, and her body language said everything.
“No. Never. We are running.” She kept her firm grasp on his hand, and continued to pull.
(Hey! Are we still doing this?)
(Sorry yes! I kinda dropped off the face of the earth there and I apologise.)
(Nbd! You wanna go ahead with a response to get this rolling again then?)
(Yep :))
Farron sighed, though he didn't bother to argue. He let the princess drag him along, soon matching her pace effortlessly.
They read til they got far away from the building, but a bitter realization stopped Azura from going any further.
“Your mother,” she said with a slightly annoyed look on her face. “We lost her and don’t know where she is. And we can’t leave without her,” she continued regretfully.
Farron's jaw clenched, and he cursed, "Of course she had to go and wander off. I'll go back the way we came, you try the other exit to the village, maybe she's waiting there."
"Alright, but be back in a few minutes. The guards aren't looking for her, they're looking for us." She turned on her heel and began to quickly weave her way through the crowds, careful to watch out for guards. She was thankful that there was a celebration going on, otherwise she would've been a lot easier to spot.
Farron nodded before he sped off in the other direction. Why did Andra have to cause such a problem at the worst of times? He shit through the crowd, careful to avoid any of the guards.
Apparently though, she wasn't too difficult to spot, since a few minutes into her search, she bumped into two soldiers. Even if she wasn't as tired as she was, there was no way she could've gotten away from them. They each grabbed one of her arms and were holding them so high that her feet were barely touching the ground. She struggled, but there was only so much she could do on an empty stomach and with swollen feet. The guards brought her back to the library, where Lynn and Andra were waiting along with more guards. Although she was a bit nervous, Azura couldn't help but roll her eyes at the sight of both of them.
Farron had no indication of what was happening to Azura, mainly because he was focused on trying to find his mother, a task which he would soon find pointless. As he rounded a corner, he ran into a small group of guards, a fight ensuing a moment later. Even though he managed to take out two of them, the other two managed to knock him out, dragging him back to the library.
Azura's gaze dropped when she saw Farron come in the room; there was absolutely no way out now. One of the guards took that moment to laugh and start taunting both of them.
"So, you two thought you could outrun the guard? And where did you get that idea?" A slight pause, then he continued. "You both have caused a lot of trouble over the past few months. Running away from your royal duties is not exactly noble. And then you went to a neighboring kingdom and continued to cause trouble. I just can't understand it."
Farron was half unconscious at this point, though still had enough strength to spit blood at the guards foot, "Go to hell. You're the ones trying to kidnap and hurt us. Isn't endangering and hurting royalty an offense?"
The guard was less than pleased by Farron's response. "I'm the one that decides what happens from now on. Not you. So if I were you, I'd keep my spit to myself," he almost growled as he put a knife up to Farron's throat. "Understood?"
Farron smirked, unfazed by the knife as it wasn't a first time threat he'd received, "Go on. Do it. Or are you working for someone who wants us alive? So many questions so little time as it seems."
"Sure, they want you alive, but I don't think they'll fret too much if you're not," he replied curtly.
Azura caught her gaze flicking towards Andra, waiting to see what her reaction was to the guard putting a knife to her son's throat. She seemed not to care; she was watching the events unfold as if it was a play that was losing her attention. Az was furious, so furious, in fact, that she didn't realize the tears streaming down her face until after they plopped onto her clothes. Then she became even more angry, but this time it was at herself for crying.
Farron saw Az out the corner of his eye and his jaw clenched. They had to get out. At the very least he had to get her out. But it was the look his mother was giving them. Disappointment? Shame? She definitely didn't care, that was for sure.
He kicked one of his legs out, hoping to knock the guard off his feet.
(LOL im sooo sorry man I should have replied way earlier, I don't even have a good excuse)
Azura's head snapped back up after she heard a short cry from the guard that Farron knocked over. In response, she elbowed the guard that was standing behind her and punched him in the gut. There were plenty of guards in the room, however, so they had to get out fast or it was all over.
