Farron shook his head a little, "No, I need to be better, I need to protect you so you don't have to go back to that place…"
Farron shook his head a little, "No, I need to be better, I need to protect you so you don't have to go back to that place…"
"Farron. I can protect myself. What do you think iv'e been doing all these years?" she smiled. "You are great. Really. You're more than I could ever ask for." she gave him a final hug.
"Promise me this," she began. She could sense that he still felt that he was going to protect her. "Please, let me fight my own battles. Promise?"
Farron sighed a little and rubbed at his face, “I promise. But I still will protect you if need be, okay?”
She laughed outright at this. "Alright, fine, and I will do the same. But right about now, we should probably go see why those guards were in here, because that could prove to be a real problem later." She headed towards the door, and when Farron didn't follow right away, she peeked her head around the corner.
"You coming?"
Farron sighed a little but smiled, shaking his head slightly as he walked towards her, “Patience, Azura, patience.” He grabbed her hand and headed down the hallway, “Should we go see my brother?”
Yeah. He would know why they were in here if it really wasn't that big of a deal, but if they broke in, they might do it again. The guard said he saw me, and he was convinced, so they might come back."
Farron nodded, "Right. Okay." He led them through the palace, making sure there weren't any guards that were still hanging around. Eventually, they found Herla.
"Herla what the hell! Why did you let the guards in?"
"What do you mean? I didn't."
"Well why were they in here?" Azura chimed in and stepped forward. "They were talking to you before they came in, so where did they come in at if you didn't let them in?"
Herla rubbed at his face, “I don’t know. I can’t remember what happened…”
"What do you mean, you don't remember what happened?" Azura asked. She was very annoyed by that particular statement. Who did this guy think he was kidding? This is his Farron's and Azura's safety they were talking about! No time for games!
"This happened a bit over five minutes ago. You should definitely remember what happened, and if you genuinely don't, we should take you to a doctor," she added with a bit of an attitude.
“Azura calm down.” Farron said gently, placing a hand in her arm, “What do you remember, Herla?”
“Well, the guards came to the doors, I told them to piss off basically then it all goes black until you two got here.” He explained.
"Why did you black out? Did someone attack you, or were you nervous, or what?" she kept pressing Herla.
"I really don't know, I just blacked out. That's all I know."
Azura huffed and ruffled her hair.
"Well, this is definitely a problem," she said, turning to Farron. "We might be able to ask someone else if they know how the guards got in?" She was beginning to think that they may have to leave soon.
"There was no one around but me at the time…" Herla said and Farron started to pace.
"How'd they get in then? It can't have been magic? That shit doesn't exist!" Farron crossed his arms over his chest.
"I don't know!" Herla said. He was very visibly angry. "Why don't you understand that simple phrase? I blacked out!"
Azura stepped in. "As you know, we are very much in danger. Even if you did black out, you still may know about some sort of hidden tunnels or some possible way they could have gotten in that you're simply not telling us about. After all, you are the king, so you should know your palace. So, tell us: what information do you have?" she looked at him, narrowing her pale blue eyes at him.
"They only ways into the castle are the front or the tunnels which you know about. I have never told anyone outside of my family or my guards about the tunnels and have never spoken about them to anybody from Rosguard about. Ever." Herla clenched his fists at his side.
Azura took a deep breath. "Well obviously, they came in one of those two ways. Maybe your guards know whether they went through the tunnels?"
"They would have told me. Azura I know your worried about being found and I know you don't trust me but you have to believe me." Herla said, flicking his gaze between the two.
"It's not that I don't trust you, it's just that I have to be on my toes. I'm in a different place and I have to be extra careful. Plus, people are hunting me down. It really might not matter anyway, because I might have to leave. I'm going to talk to the guards at the entrance of the tunnels." Azura turned and walked away.
Farron coughed, "The tunnels are the other way, come on." He glanced at Herla before heading off towards the tunnels.
"Oops, my bad," she laughed a bit nervously and turned the other way. When they were a distance from Herla, Azura started talking. She was incredibly serious.
"Farron, if. . ." she trailed off. "If I have to leave, you don't need to come with me. I see how much you love it here, and I wouldn't want to take that away from you."
Farron stopped and made Azura stop with him, "Azura, wherever you go, I go. Once this has all calmed down we could come back but if you need to leave… I'm coming with you." He pressed a kiss to her lips before walking again.
"But Farron, you have responsibilities here, and people who would be lost without you. Those kids at the shelter, your brother; they need you."
"First of all, my brother doesn't need me, the kids, they know I'm not here all the time. You come first right now, Azura. And you can't change my mind."
Azura huffed, but secretly, she was very pleased. She reached for his hand and held on to his arm with her head on his shoulder. Then she smiled. I would be lost without him.
Farron sighed a little but didn't say anything else, lost in his own thoughts. Eventually, the found the tunnels and the guards, "Ask away." He muttered.
