Azura nodded in agreement.
“Delicious,” she said as she stuffed a bit more bread into her mouth. Once she was finished, she pushed herself back from the table.
“Mrs. Baker, the reason we stopped by (other than food) is to inquire about this town. We’re new here, and Trying to decide whether we are going to stay for a few months or move on.”
Mrs Baker crossed her arms, “Well, I’m sure the inn will let you stay for a few weeks at most but not months. Rent is cheap so it would be fine for you both to find a place to stay, as well as a job for you young man. If you’re looking for somewhere peaceful to stay then here woul be a fine place.”
( I KNOW I SAID I WOULDN'T INTERRUPT BUT YOU HAD BETTER GET A FREAKING MOVE ON PLEASE!!!!!!!!! OR AT LEAST ADD A CUT SCENE WITH THE MOM I JUST NEED MORE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) (P.s. sorry)
(lol im super glad u wanna hear more and dont worry now we've got a plan tee hee)
Azura saw a picture behind the woman as she was speaking. She tried too look closer because it seemed familiar, but when she leaned in too close, Mrs. Baker turned and looked at her, then followed her gaze to the painting.
"Do you know her?" Mrs. Baker asked.
"Yes, she looks very familiar," Azura replied. Then it hit her. the queen.
(okay cool please hurry though you guys are great)
Farron stood from his seat slowly and walked over to the picture. The breath was knocked out of him two quickly and he stumbled back a few steps. He shook his head a little.
"How? How do you have that picture?"
Mrs. Becker smiled.
“I am a painter, and that woman came by and asked me to paint a picture of her. That one I did about three months ago, actually. Do you like it?”
Three months… Farron shook his head again and began to pace, "She's dead… How could you have painter her when she died two years ago?" He ran a hand through his hair to stop himself from shaking.
(AW FRICK) (PS just ignore my commentary)
Mrs. Baker snorted. “I’m positive that I haven’t seen a spirit, my boy. The woman was alive. I talked to her. She didn’t tell me much about herself, but I know she wasn’t dead. Tell me, though, why do you know this woman?”
"She's my mother…" Farron muttered, collapsing in a near by chair with a sigh, "I-It can't be the same woman, surely. She… she can't be alive, i-it's not possible." He was visibly shaking at this point.
“She did mention that she had a son,” Mrs.Baker said with her finger on her chin. She tapped for a bit.
“Tell me, how do you know she’s dead?”
Azura spoke up.
“That’s a good point, Farron. No one ever found her body, did they?”
She was trying to hide her excitement, but it came through in her voice. Every second she spent thinking about the possibility of Farron smother being alive made her more and more anxious.
"But I saw her take her last breath." Farron replied, shaking his head slightly and refusing to look at them both.
“Tell us what happened; we need the whole story. It may very well be that she is still alive,” Azura said. She put a hand on Farron’s shoulder.
Farron took a shaky breath and placed his hand on top of Azura's, not looking at her, though, "Two years ago, the city was attacked. He don't know how the guards got in or why they wanted to but they went straight for the palace. Father was out with… with the guards on the main front of the battle, Herla and I were taking the guards in the palace, same with mother. We thought the place was clear but… but someone came up from behind and nearly stabbed me and Herla. Mother took the wound through the heart. I…" He swallowed, "I watched her utter her last words, before her body was taken away. I saw her go limp in the mans arms and watched as my father came back and helped carry her away…"
“But they didn’t bury her? Because you told me a few months ago that you don’t know what your father did to the body, but he didn’t let anyone else help him. Maybe she ran off? And maybe he got upset about her running off and didn’t say anything about it?”
(Ok I’m tired gn but I’ll be up at around 10 and I’ll be checking in and out till around 2)
(Okay, I don't know what time that will be for me since I'm in a different time zone but seeya soon)
"If she is alive, why would she run off? She was happy, I know that for a fact. I also know that she would never leave my city, she loved it too much, loved my father too much…" Farron sighed, "Gosh I'm so confused…"
Azura lowered her voice.
“Maybe someone made her run off.”
Mrs. Baker shifted her weight and looked at the picture.
Farron's head snapped to Azura, "Why would… why would someone make her run?" He whispered.
"I don't know, Farron," she said. She squeezed his arm in an attempt to calm him down. "But, clearly, there is a possibility that she may still be alive. And we, my friend, are going to find out if that possibility is a reality." She smiled her best smile.
Farron stood quickly and wrapped Azura in a hug, "Thank-you…"
