“While you two were out hunting” he smiled at the creature
Seth shook his head, and glanced back to see where Tolkalee was. "I do hope you remember that we are going towards a war."
“ I know it’s better than where I was before. Anyway give him a month and he’ll be up to my knee. Back where I lived buellettes were war beasts”
"I would argue against that on a normal day, but not right now," Seth grinned. He looked forward and at the sky. "You see that large cloud over there?" Through the branches of the tree's they could see a huge black cloud.
He looked up at the cloud “yeah that’s probably a storm”
Seth shook his head. "Nope, that would be the war zone, and that cloud would be a cloud of smoke."
“That would explain why she was that close”
"Kara?" Seth asked looking at Jackson.
"Probably," Tolkalee said, as he came up to the two of them. "Come on we should keep moving."
“Yeah” kat said she quickened her pace a small amount
Tolkalee took up the lead again, and began heading towards the huge cloud of smoke that rose higher into the sky. "We are likely going to get there some time in the middle of the night, if we want to keep going straight there without stopping."
Kat spoke “we should probably camp we have some injuries to take care of”
Jackson signed this wasn’t going to be easy
Tolkalee nodded and continued forward. "There is a sheltered area up ahead that can make for a good camp site for the night. We can stay there and I can treat whatever wounds you need treated."
Jackson spoke “good “
Kat walked along the path she dreaded th battle ahead she had bad feeling about what would happen next
Seth fell in beside Kat. "You seem worried," he commented without looking at her.
“ Things are just going to go downhill from here. I mean look at how our fight with Kara went I was useless.” Kat said in worried tone
"Useless how? I didn't see anyone that was useless," Seth gave her a sympathetic smile. "Kara is just one of those enemies that… you can't really fight on your own. I can't, Tolk can't, we struggle to fight her even when we're working together in perfect harmony. She's dangerous, but we've beaten her before, and with the extra help we can definitely do it again. No one here is useless, don't tell yourself that you are."
Kat kept walking “what if we face someone more powerful than her what if the army we are facing is filled with people as powerful as her. And with this damn curse how could I ever be of use” her voice was on the edge of despair she felt like giving up completely
Seth stopped and grabbed her arm. "Kat take a breath and calm down. Stop putting yourself down. You are a strong and powerful person, you could beat me and Tolkalee. I want you to remember that. You can beat the two of us, and the two of us can beat Kara. That means that you can beat her. I don't want you thinking that you're useless, because you're not."
She stood silently .She felt comforted and calmed by Seth she’d been alone so long she’d forgotten what it was like to have friends
"You have so much talent and ability, but you're keeping yourself from using it, because you keep putting yourself down. Stop doing that, it does no one any good," Seth bent slightly so he could look at Kat on the same level. "If you have no one else to turn to, just turn to me okay? I'll always be here."
she had lived most of her life bearing this awful curse alone she hadn’t experienced someone actually helping her before. Maybe he was right. “thank you”she said with true gratitude in her voice
Seth stretched his arm out to her, almost like he was offering a hug. Surprising for him. "Come on we should catch up."
She awkwardly returned the hug and said “yeah, you're right”
Seth gave a small smile and started walking forward again.
Kat smiled back at him and continued on the path
